Citizenship - don't take it for granted

Too many people take their citizenship for granted - whether it be Canadian or US. I had a discussion with a very attractive female from Russia. She told me she was in Canada and hoped to gain citizenship. She explained her life in Russia was miserable. She had no money, food or anything to look forward to in life. We talked for a long time to the point of her telling me if she wasn't successful in obtaining Canadian citizenship she would rather kill herself then return to Russia . Sadly, I believe her.

Don't take for granted the citizenship you have - others would kill for it.

I wish her well at her immigration hearings and hope she makes it.

To have something to look forward to, is the most important thing in life.

What's so bad about living in Russia, anyways...?

Completely true. Yet, I doubt many people really can appreciate their Canadian citizenship, because they've had it all the time.

Truly the difference between life and death.

I've never been there but she tells me unless you have money to pay people off, you can't live. She says people have no food, wear the same clothing for months at a time, and have nothing too look forward to in life. She described it as the living dead. She also said her most people give up on life and become alcoholics.

I have friends in another country, full of corruption who are poor and struggle to pay the rent & buy food & clothes, yet they are happy. Their lives are richer than my own. as they do not struggle deciding which material things to buy. It is neighbours, family & culture that are important to them

Many people in Canada also become addicts & give up on life.. look at Vancouver's east side.. you want to see the living dead, that is the place to go.

But then you have those who do get a Canadian citizenship and complain about how bad Canada is and how they wish they were back home because it was better there.

Yep, and it annoys me to no end. I feel like telling them to go back home if they hate it here so much.

I agree but I think the majority don't complain and are appreciative to live in a place like Canada or the US.

I won't feel so badly when I write my check to uncle sam (coined name for the us government) this year as it beats living anywhere else (ok, Canada is a great place also!)

As said Russia is a country where corruption rules. Unless you know the right people in the right place you're fucked. Not mentioning the mafia and the really dirty business everywhere and all the time.

Most men drink a lot, like a lot as in a lot - and are not that cool ; so when the beautiful Russians come in Europe or in America we all look like perfect matches.

Added to that the size of the country - I mean look at a map and see the thing: it's HUGE. The result is that apparently some villages still believe there is a Tsar at the head of the country... and moreover are extremely poor.

Most escorts who come in Europe admit that to live well in Moscow and go out with the golden youth you need 4 to 5 thousand euros a month - which is what you would need in Paris for the same lifestyle!
So obviously you can guess that there is a huge gap between rich and poor. But once again it depends on the eye of the beholder... some escorts would not exchange their life for all the gold in the world...

Remember these beautiful women really do come from that environment, and the ones who survived and thrived in it well enough to buy a plane ticket to Canada, pass the means test, etc., that they have that way of life in their blood. Translation: They may see you as the perfect match, but they will view the relationship as a series of transactions. That makes them great SP's and lousy girlfriends.

Not saying every one of them is like that. Just, watch out.

I completely agree... with this sharp analysis.
Though I have never met a Russian as GF, I have been dumped by an SP and they are really cold... like warm inside but when they have decided to move on then it's really too late and nothing happens on the outside... horrible.
Yes, the opposite of love is not anger, it's possession... when human relationship are relayed to materialistic transactions...

I agree with everything you said.

BTW, how was her mileage?

That makes me think to when I used to work in a library behind the desk (while in high school). One guy who came in one day was talking about how much he loved being in Canada. He said he loved Canada because he didn't have to worry about getting shot when going outside or having paramilitary gangs break in to his house at night. I can't remember which country it was. But just simple things like law and order are better in Canada than most other countries. Remember when the Pope put his foot in his mouth talking about Muslims? Anyone notice how there wasn't violence in Canada unlike many other countries... even 1st world countries like some in Europe?
