Man, do I feel for Mike Vanderjet...not only did he miss the kick that would tie the game, but shanks it WAY RIGHT. Not even CLOSE!

What a 4th Quarter though...Colts coming back, Bettis fumbling on the Colt 2 yard line...

So it'll be the Broncos and Steelers...any thoughts on who's got the edge in the Mile High City next week??

Your thread should begin "STEELERS WIN!!!" not Colts lose

The Steelers always deserved to win that game. Bad officiating almost gave it to the Colts. Interference not called in the 2nd Q and the Polamalu interception in the 4th Q that was disallowed but WAS an interception.

NO WAY Jerome Bettis goes out like that!

P.S. Don't "feel" for Mike Vanderjagt - he was an asshole as a teenager and he's still an asshole. Couldn't of happened to a better guy ;)

I browsed through a couple of football boards and Vanderjagt is just being crucified by the fans. Personally, I think he screwed up but so did a lot of Colts throughout the game.
Maybe this will cause teams to rethink the strategy of going through the motions towards the end of the schedule. The Colts did nothing until the last quarter and rust may have been a factor.

And hopefully Ben Roethlisberger will finally get some respect now.

somewhere only we know
either way it was a great game. I was pulling for the Steelers all game. Next week should be a real good game. I give the advantage to the Broncos. Just because the are at home. Even though it help the Colts at all today.

And boy was that kick WAY off today. I dont think he has ever missed one that bad before.

That's twice now for Vander Shank

A few years ago in Miami he missed one in OT then the Dolphins came back to win it.

Then he bad mouthed Manning on TV.

Bad call by the colts though on 3rd and 2. Should have just got the first down and tried to get closer or go to the end zone. A field goal from that distance is only a 50-50 shot. Horrible effort though on the FG.

Equally dumb play by the Steelers on the Bettis fumble. Protecting the ball was the priority down there.

Is it just me or is the officiating as bad as I've ever seen in this league?? Don't know what the referee saw to overturn the interception - and what the hell was that with no false start/no offside. If there was no infraction, why'd you blow the freaking whistle?!?!

Especially Peyton. Why not just send the kid to school with a shirt that says "Please pick on me."

Appartently he made some comments in a post-game interview that the O-line didn`t give him much protection. Bradshaw really ripped into him on Fox for saying that in public.

Great games on Sunday, which almost made up for the snoozers on Saturday. I agree, the Steelers deserved to win. They did what they had to, and like the Chargers did earlier this season, proved that Peyton is just any other guy, when he has big burly guys in his face. Peyton looked horrible for most of the game, as he should, because he was getting hellacious pressure. Big Ben played about as well as one could hope, and that was about it.

As for Vanderjagt, I don't care what anyone thinks, a 46 yarder is no gimme. I felt that way when Norwood missed one from that distance to give the Giants the win back in SB XXV, and I feel that way today. I mean, yes, of course he should have made it. He is a professional and all. But it's not like he missed a chip shot. You could argue the Colts should have tried to at least pick up a few yards and give Vanderjagt a better chance, rather than go for the end zone on 2nd and 3rd down.

Anyway, what place will the Colts occupy in NFL lore now that they have squandered, arguably, their best chance to get to the big game in their history? You can't even say they are as pathetic as the Minnesota Vikings or Buffalo Bills, because at least those teams made it to the SB. I don't feel bad for Vanderjagt or Manning, I feel bad mostly for Tony Dungy who is a class act.

Definitely glad I tuned in for the 4th quarter it was pretty exciting with a lot of twists and turns at the end. Too bad the kick was wide.

If the Colts can keep the core of the team together they will be back its a matter of time before P.Manning wins one.

I see him either getting one in the next few years either with the colts or someone else. The way this guy works he deserves it I think there are few players that study like he does. And the way he operates the offense is incredible too.

Laces Out

Vanderjagt is going to lose it now, snap and blame the holder, go insane and go on a rampage, killing all that get in his way. He's a nutbar to begin with and he's headed back to the Argos.

The Steelers did everything to hand this one to them. Big Ben saved it for them with that tackle after the goal line fumble by the Bus. I didnt really care who won but watching it had me in and outta my seat ill tell ya.

Payton and Eli were named by a guy named Archie btw. Guess misery loves company. Whats the littles Mannings name anyway? I forget

Anywhere there's a Strip Joint
Just goes to show you time and time again, that the playoffs are a whole new season in most types of sports. Just because you're great in the regular season, doesn't mean you're going to win it all!

That was a long field goal but that was a pathetic miss. Next to Kris Brown's mysterious tank shank against Tenessee that may be one of the worst looking misses ever. It never had a chance.

Personally, I think that look great on Vanderjagt. Next to the Domi TSN promo, Vanderjagt's arrogant, "I'm the greatest football player" commercial just made me sick everytime I couldn't switch the channel fast enough.

Peyton's a choke artist but what does that make Vanderjagt? Oh yeah, a loudmouth choke artist on the waiver wire.

BTW ... I wish I had a DVR but I still don't see how Manning avoided getting saftied in the 3rd quarter. It looked like his knee hit the goal line when he was taken down. Did anyone look at that again?

Also WTF was with Peyton telling Dungy that they were going for it on 4th down. I mean it worked out and lead to a TD but the QB over ruling the head coach and the coach letting that happen? Holy shit i was surprised. Even if it might be the wrong call Dungy looked like a pussy in letting Manning take over and make the call on that one. You could see Dungy throwing up his hands and saying whatever...I thought that was a big deal. Dungy lost alot of respect on that play in my books (just a side note)

That would be a shame. Dungy is a hell of a coach and a good man.

ESPN says Denver now favourite to win superbowl.........
Whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaattttttttttttttttttt

Denver to win the Superbowl???
To maybe beat Pittsburgh but. . .

Seattle is still around. Disposing of Washington without Alexander they are going to walk over Carolina and be favourites in Detroit. This is finally going to be Seattle's year. Even after the year they had they are still considered a "dark horse" by many so-called pundits. Holmgren would just love it if they were dogs for XL.
