Compulsive Video Games

I always thought video games are harmless and it increases your reflexes. I had my share in video games as well when I am not busy working. I enjoyed games like role-playing and first person shooter. I never thought they were addictive. I did stay up late to play video games only on weekend when I was younger. Lately I found many video games to be much more realistic and very time consuming. Some of these games are so real, in one role-playing game one can travel from city to city. The virtual world is as big as you can imagine. You can even trade with other human or computer players on-line.

I would never thought they could make people to skip work/school or neglect their families. Then I came across a news article on the net that indicated many people in other countries actually work as game players. They are hire by the web master (game server) to compete with other human players. They can make great earning if they can beat everyone else. There are many drawbacks. The articles continue to point out that kids/adults nowadays are more anti-social. We have more on-line friends than real life friends. There was a teenager who killed himself after he lost all his valuable inventories in a role playing game. I found this sad and frightening. After all, it is just a video game why would anyone take it so seriously. You suppose to have fun and not losing sleep over it.

There folks who get addicted either have no willpower or no life. I used to be really big into those on-line games and played often, but I never let it consume me. I mainly played it when I was bored or had some free time to do so. Yes I admit every so often I got so into it that I might play it once I got home but for the most part it was when i wasn't doing anything else important at the time.

has anyone played grand theft auto 3? that game will put its hooks into you quick. grantouismo is also crack-like in it's adiction level.

fortunately I have a very non-addictive personality so I've never has a problem with thsi (non-addictive personlity=lazy)

Two more months and the sequel to POSTAL hits the shelves. boy them guys at runningwithscissors.com sure make a mean game.

I never had an addiction to video games, I mean I played a lot of it when I was younger(I was very anti-social then)and of course never did much else but that. Now though,I still play them but never as intensely as before,besides,something I'd rather do is go to sc's and look at hot gals,more entertaining then the most fun video game. One of these days,I'll start hobbying in MP's too and oh boy,graduate to SP's! Life is great when waking up from sleep,eagerly seeking out one of life's true mysteries,WOMEN!

You should play Halo for the Xbox.... That is one addictive game especally if you play against other people online!!!

I'll tell ya, I still can't get away from Solitare!!!! First thing I downloaded for my Palm Pilot was solitare.... when will it end????????

I got hooked on Black and White. I can't be just me, because (believe it or not), there's actually a support group for B&W junkies.

I'm picturing people out there panhandling with little signs that say "Need Change, Want to Buy New Creature"...

GTA3(Grand Theft Auto) rocks! I just got it so have not had a chance to really get into it but so far, so good. I spent alot of time playing GTA2. Borderline additive.

there is another gta game coming out around christmas. i think it's called gta vice city. have you done any drive-bys yet?
