I had a couple of Trojan viruses on my system last night. Norton anti-virus picked them up but were unable to fix them as it said "access denied". The location of the viruses were in the IE 5 temporary internet folder.

I deleted my cache and all cookies, then did a virus scan. No infection was detected. Does that mean the viruses are no longer on my system??

you are going to have to turn off the system restore to clean your computer because it will get infected again.

make sure Norton scans all files.

Click Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore. A new window will open up. Towards the left side you should see "System Restore Settings". Click that and then put a check-mark in the box that say's "Turn Off System Restore." That should do it.

Ooop's, I was assuming you had Window's XP. Not entirely sure how System Restore work's in Win 2000. You might wanna check www.microsoft.com online support for more info or just try a google search.

go to www.trendmicro.com and run their "housecall". It's free and it will scan your system and find things that Norton and Mcaffee miss.
