WINNIPEG -- A local porn performer and escort who sparked a courthouse scandal following an Internet sex romp with two sheriff's officers says she doesn't know what all the fuss is about.
"Thank you for all the attention ... I love it," the woman known as Oshean wrote in an e-mail statement to Sun Media yesterday.
"However, I don't understand all the fuss directed towards the couple. They were the nicest people you'd ever meet."
The male and female officers were placed on unpaid leave after news surfaced they guest-starred in a steamy online video featured on Oshean's website.
"Would it make the front page if they went to 7-Eleven or Tim's," Oshean wrote. "It's my understanding that like any Canadian citizen, when they leave work, they can participate in any legal activity they choose."
CODE OF CONDUCT PROBE
The two officers could not be reached.
An investigation into the affair is focusing on an allegation the officers' actions violated the Sheriff's department's code of conduct, said Jeff Schnoor, assistant deputy minister for courts.
According to justice sources, the male officer said he thought the video was recorded for private use.
But Oshean disputed that claim.
"We operate with the same conduct as required by any production company," she wrote. "All participants are aware and sign a release before shooting."
