Craigslist scam

Hey guys, I don't know if this is the best section to post this in but here goes.

I'm a regular member on PERB so I'm not here much but I thought I'd warn everyone here about a Craiglist scam that was just exposed in Kelowna BC.

A girl using the name Taryn/Tanya/Sexxii had an ad and was asking for deposits up front. As big of a red flag as asking for a deposit is, some still fell for this scam.

I'm posting this more for the newbies, NEVER NEVER NEVER pay a deposit up front via email, it a ripoff every time. USE YOUR BIG HEAD.

I read about this Scam on the perb sight and couldn't figure out why anyone would pay a deposit before meeting.
Saw another thread where the guy paid everything before arriving and then wondered why she wasn't there to meet him.

I couldn't agree more, my first thought was, WTF, did you really think this was going to turn out well.

What surprised me was a couple of others send her cash as well.
