Cuba 2004 Trip Planning question.

Hi Folks,

Looks like my friends and are are planning a trip to Cuba again. Havana is the place; after the sucess of last years trip.

Great time had by all parties. I am one relaxed Pig. Plus 2 others.

In light of recent politcal announcements/developments by Bush and Castro. They are making it tough on US folks to go down to Cuba (that's life) but Castro annnounced no Internet access for cubans which makes it tough to reach the girls I met down in Cuba. Foreign visitors or business can only us Internet now True or Not? also the US dollar is not to be used or is that an internal thing and visitors still use US Dollar?

Has anyone just gone down in the last few months to Cuba that can advise on Havana's situation? US dollar ? and Meeting Chicas for some fun in the sun. December, 2004 is the target date for one week of Chicas. This year booking a private Casa Particular.

Hey P, glad to see you are still around. I was in Cienfuegos in December last year, the girl I met had access to the internet, but in January Cubans were cut off. I don't know about the dollar thing, I can send money using Transcard which is like a debit card for Cubans.
Angelina and someone else may be going to Havana before you, so there are several threads already started on the topic recently. Perhaps wait for their return, or I can confirm with a co-worker who is from Havana(Incidently, his son arrived from there last week.)

Was in Cuba in Feb. although not in Havana. Everything / everyone down there is very nervous.

Oct. going to D.R. again instead of Cuba, just don't want the locals getting jail time for just talking to visitors! Plus D.R. is heaven for us!

I was able to use internet access from the hotel I stayed at in April. I received an email from a friend who is down there last week. So at least, the hotels still have internet access to provide to tourists.

Yes, also in Cienfuegos, they do have access but only for tourists. Locals had their access cut off at about Christmas time.

Cuba is an oasis for the single guy. What more can I say. I love Latino Ladies, passion, fire and friendly very friendly, ok the last one wanted to get engaged.lol, nk.

Never been to a TERB party, friends gave mixed reviews to be frank.

Angelinamassage, if you like dining, dancing to cubano jazz, romantic walks on the beaches and to be pampered and massaged yourself; then, we have a date if you are down first week of December 2004 in Havana. lol. Otherwise, I can fend for myself with the local environs. home spanish course are paying off.

Interesting to here Dominican Republic, my understanding it is much more family, newlywed type place. Guess I need more facts.

Actually I received a recommendation by a couple of Costa Rican Dancers that their homeland is friendly to single guys.

Mexico would be an option but not in a built up toruist (americanized) area.

Still doing Cuba but more information on other locations also good to know options. maybe two trips this year.

Enjoy D.R. frineds went down with the family and inlaws and belive it or not had a good time.

Been avoiding the negative flow of thinking many of the threads take.

Good NEWS for Canucks in Cuba,

Bring down Canadian Dollars to exchange into Convertible Peso at the Airport. If you bring US Dollars they ding you a 10% fee on top of conversion exchange.

Exit Fee of $25 is in Convertible Peso now.

Leaving in two weeks for some Havana Fun fr one week. Gonna check out some Villas to rent next year for a month to relax.

I have been there in September.Internet can be accessed in hotel. 10 USD per hour, it might take 5-10 minutes to check an e-mail.

The purpose of Cuba is to go low tech or rather no tech. LOL. Good to here internet is still available. I can let the family know if I bring home a wife. LOL

lots of sp.
all strip clubs have take out and also have small locker/rooms with a one way mirror to watch the dance floor while you are getting FS.
also drive in hotels $20 for the take out as you can't get them into the resorts.
