Dating Websites - Experiences

I have attempted, over the last few years, to contact women wishing casual encounters via some of the many websites devoted to this. I have not had a lot of success. I am interested in hearing the experiences of others.

Besides the fact that men outnumber women drarmatically at these sites, there are other reasons why my success rate is low. I am 58 and married, and I am upfront about these facts, since this would be discovered eventually and there's no point wasting time and energy. These two facts clearly limit the number of women interested.

I have met some women, three to be precise, and had one wonderful, mutually enjoyable night with one of them. Most attempts, however, to make contact do not get any response, and those that don't don't generally go anywhere. This is not a complaint on my part (a disappontment, but not a complaint), since I realise that most women are inundated with messages, and cannot possibly respond to all. One of the women I met had over 900 responses to her ad! (Interestingly, she was a good-looking black woman, and all but two responses were from white guys.)

I have pretty much given up on these sites, and restrict myself to the occasional visit to a (usually independent) professional.

I was fairly naive about it at first , feeling like a kid in a candy store and thinking I`d be dating five women at once. The disappointment you expressed is probably common with most of us who`ve tried it (unless you`re super handsome and have lots of interesting things to say). Many of the women there are into games and deception, anyway. I`ve been using these services for a couple of months and have only met one girl who said she was "voluptuous". Of course she was fat but a nice girl so I figured what the hell and after dinner took her to my place where I got "lucky". I have a few other contacts in the works right now so we`ll see where it goes.

I`d like to find a nice girl that I could possibly spend time with and take a break from the hobby so I`m not giving up yet, but I`ve learned to brace myself for the disappointments and bullshit and only use the free sites now.

I promised myself I wouldn't type about this subject but decided to enter some input. This is a story.

This story is about a friend who joined a dating web site. THis is his experience. He used to live in Canada but now he lives in the US. He discovered that the BC girls are more friendlier than the Ontario girls. But the US woman are more wild and outspoken than the Canadian woman.

He lives 1/2 hour away from Boston. A small town like Dundas. He has a method of weeding out the woman that come to him becasue he won't waste his time with a few people. In average he gets a 3 -5 dates in 6 weeks just from the web site. I was surprised by his number so I asked to see his personal profile. I found some interesting facts in there. He is very careful with his wording.

For example.
- income. he aimed at $100k. I believe he makes 30% less than that.
- pics. he included 2. one with his nephew/niece. other an outdoors shot in full figure. Not provocative. simple standing shot.
- title. MAnager. But he only Manages the Europe account. Not 50 people. But I guess you can say his clients are people also.
- hobbies. 3 listed and he does 2 of the 3. the third he read a book on it and he just walks the talk.

Bottom line is woman do aim for the $$$. Then a sincere pic and description will do. you have 3 choices. Tell the truth and get nothing. Strech the truth and get something. OR lie in a sincere way.

Actually, its a case of "the grass is always greener"... as an American, I think Canadian women are much hotter and outgoing, more self assured and comfortable with their sexuality.

Anyway, I travel alot for work and I live in an area that is not exactly "geographically desireable" for dating and nightlife. So, starting 3+ years ago I tried the Internet dating thing.

Although I havent met "the one", I've dated a couple girls for almost a year each, and I've had ALOT of very short term successes. Its amazing how many women will jump into bed by the second date, and we're talking 8's and 9's.

My profile? Salary $100K+, I have a picture with my little 3 yr old niece, profile listing an array of sports/hobbies, and a list of all the places I've travelled in the past 10 years. Women do seem to go for the superficial things... which makes them no worse than men.

After a couple rounds of joining and quitting, you learn to separate the sincere ones, the golddiggers, the nymphos and the nutcases. If you have the time and the patience to truly date, its a smorgasbord of free sex, but be prepared for the "strings attached" relationship part that you dont have to worry about in this hobby.
