Mayor David Miller is considering calling a special city council meeting to find a way to save the Bombardier streetcar deal, after failing to wring money out of Ottawa for the $1.2 billion project.

Perhaps you can elaborate on why you think he was a genius for submitting a proposal that did not qualify ? Certainly his current actions indicate he is no management genius when it comes to running the affairs of the city and I'm interested as to how you came to the conclusion he was in the failed streetcar deal ? That Can Car factory in Thunder Bay produced our TTC subway cars, our double-decker Go trains and some shorter subway cars for the city of Boston. I used to call on that plant over 30 years ago so I saw every one of those projects take shape. I also visited Boston and used their subway system. At that time, Can Car had a bunch of really skilled people who'd previously worked at the Saunders aircraft factory in Gimli MB. We need the transit vehicles and we desperately need to keep that factory afloat.

just The people who actually designed the program say it works this way, 2700 other municipalities managed to get the forms filled out correctly with the i's dotted and the t's crossed and with passable grammer but hizz worshipp decides it should work this way because he thinks it should, well just because.

Now council has to have an emergency meeting to designate other projects that actually do qualify for the program get them approved and then use the money that they were supposed to use on them for the street cars.

And they wonder why the unions went out. Probably couldn't believe what they saw

The unions went out because they knew miller would personally give each and everyone of his bum chums a blow job (or pay for them to get one) and would give them whatever they wanted. Cuz, he's their buddy afterall.
