If you day trade I highly suggest a combination of profit and loss orders to protect from downfall. We are in a volatile market right now and moving forward, you need to have a good trade location if you want to go long a stock
People are free to do what they want, but I’ve been in the business for 20 years and I’ve never known anyone to make real money daytrading. Most day traders I know moved on to other things.
Day trading is good - don't dump large sums into it, buy good dividend paying stocks (in case you need to hold on for a while) and do the trading within a tax sheltered account (TFSA or RRSP) to avoid an accounting nightmare.
