As Warren Oates said in Stripes, "I'm getting too old for this shit".

After the brutal disappointment of Man of Steel, DC/WB are not going to get anymore of my cinema going money. That has no changed but from first glance Wonder Woman is under-whelming (can Gal Gadot act?) and Harley Quinn becomes an insane clown streetwalker. But I don't have a right to complain, I'm not 14 years olds.

Marvel made another strategic casting choice, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel. The last one, RDJ as Iron Man, worked well for them. But I'm old and confused - how many Agent Carter's are there?

There are two Carters in the Marvel Comics & Cinematic Universe: Margaret "Peggy" Carter, and Sharon Carter aka Agent 13. Originally in the comics, Sharon was Peggy's younger sister, but was later changed to be Peggy's great-niece. Both are agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

DC does far better on TV and Animation. They seem to have the ability to tell good stories there.

The movies just suck(except Batman of course). I think mainly it's due to the characters which aren't very interesting. Marvel Heroes have flaws, they are more "real".

You're right, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is unwatchable, I haven't streamed Agent Carter yet nor Gotham. Revenge was a guilty pleasure, I ate it up.

Marvel couldn't have cast the Agent Carters any better, voluminous levels of sex appeal. Actually I don't know anything about Haley Atwell except that every time she showed up on Craig's show, he had a baton.

Marvel's characters work better on the the big screen because they have spacious room for interpretation. Can't wait to see what Benedict Cumberbatch does with Dr. Strange.

Yeah, DC shows were the best back in the day.

Young Justice is supposed to be getting a 3rd season via Netflix, hopefully it goes back to more of the season 1 feel.

In terms of movies, Marvel is definitely setting the bar. I hope that Affleck can pull through with his Batman movie and really hope the Justice League movie is good as well, the multiple JL shows were my favorite cartoon series and I don't think I could live with myself if they butcher it.

Silent Bob.

Man of Steel was such a huge disappointment to me that I was unwilling to pay for BvS nor Suicide Squad. But now that BC has joined the Marvel Universe it brings up an interesting option. Tom Hardy is still contractually obligated to WB to do another film with DC. That was supposed to be Suicide Squad but he dropped out due to The Revenant overrunning it's shoots. He's said that if he does another project he wants his own writers. The possibly means Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders, Taboo) will direct and co-write alongside his Bad Dog Theater Company co-artistic director Kelly Marcel (Bronson). BC and TH are lifelong friends and friendly rivals, supposedly Alejandro Innaritu went horizontal when he refused to grant TH leave to attend BC's wedding.

A lot of people have said that Marvel does movies well and DC does TV shows well.

A lot of people have said that Marvel does movies well and DC does TV shows well.
This is an incomplete statement.

Marvel does movies AND TV well.

The question is one of audience, not quality of material. DC's excellent TV productions are geared towards millennials and youth audiences. That audience are also the ones who are more vocal in their praise and disappointment. Flash and Arrow are this generation's equivalent of the Buffy The Vampire Slayer TV show (not a knock on them: that was a great TV show for a certain demographic), and the Supergirl show is HIGHLY targeted to the youth audience.

Agents Of SHIELD is... uneven. No doubt about it. When it's good, it's very good. When it's bad, it's Just Another TV Show. So far, in 3.25 seasons, I'd say 1.5-2 seasons have been good, in aggregate. But it's also geared towards a slightly older audience than the DC TV shows mentioned above.

On the other hand, OH MY FUCKING GOD IF YOU SAY THE MARVEL NETFLIX SHOWS AREN'T BRILLIANT WE CANNOT SPEAK SERIOUSLY ANYMORE. Ever. Ever ever ever. Unless you're a very attractive young lady under the age of 30, because the Netflix shows are pretty heavily geared towards a much more adult audience (not that young ladies under 30 can't be brilliantly mature). Daredevil Season 1 was brilliant. Luke Cage? LUKE MOTHERFUCKING CAGE??? I'd put the 13 episodes of Luke Cage up against any dramatic series you care to name. It's The Wire with a superhero. Jessica Jones? I can see JJ being divisive, but if you're into serious noir psychodrama Jessica Jones will OWN you. Season 2 of Daredevil? At LEAST as good as anything DC has put on TV, and it's the "weakest" of the Marvel Netflix shows.

The Peggy Carter show was great. Very stylish, very cool. But the Netflix shows have serious weight to them.

Right now I'm binge watching the Justice League cartoon when I get a chance. It's good. Above kiddy but still accessible.

I just finished Daredevil season two. And an about 4 episodes into Luke Cage. I will wait to binge watch Gotham(one o my favorites) and Agents of Shield at the mid season break.

Really looking forward to Iron Fist and the Defenders team up.

I'm going to binging on Luke Cage when the time arises. It looks to me like it has a similar format to DC's iZombie, they are both driven by the charisma of their lead actors. The DC show is at a crossroads. So far it's been all about Rose McIver's outlandish range but now it seems to have morphed into a Walking Dead spin off.

The Wire was sensational but they show could not be extended beyond S 5 without Idris Elba and Michael K Williams. They did the right thing by not extending it.

A landmark scene! Ain't no sugar water runnin through them veins.

I'm disappointed that Michael K Williams hasn't gotten better roles. I watched 12 Years a Slave because he was in it - and they kill him off in the first half hour. :(

For me it is not as simple as DC vs Marvel because Marvel is split up....... the X-men franchise rights are not owned by the Disney group that owns the Avengers. That's why the X-men have not crossed over. Fantastic Four is owned by another studio and those movies have been unwatchable.

I just watched X-men Apocalypse and it was terrible. Zero dimensional characters, bad jokes, too serious, and Wolverine was only in one scene. Compared to Suicide Squad..... while critically bashed it was fun, I was entertained by the characters/acting and the soundtrack was great..... it's only flaw saw the bad guy was lame.

The Avengers are more fun, balance the drama with humour and have better pacing.

The Justice League animated series that ran from 2003-2006 (the one that you're watching I presume) is probably the best cartoon series I have ever seen. Made for both kids and adults, with mature nuances that adults will pick up on (sexual references between Wonder Woman and the boys).

Talk about ripping giant farts.

You have great actors like Michael Shannon (General Zod) and Oscar Isaac (Apocalypse) and you completely sell them down the river. Talk about snatching utter defeat from a sure victory. The producers of MoS and XM:A should be cleaning out pig stalls not making movies.

I'll watch a clip of Port Perry's best export and feel better.

So I watched an episode of Haley Atwell new show Conviction: 6/10, there's room for improvement.

Great move by Marvel casting Atwell as Agent Carter - she's not a stickwoman. It's high time that the media tyranny of the anorexic look crashes and burns. Atwell is all curves and cleavage...Adrienne Barbeaux with talent.

And she's kooky, what's not to like.

But you should. You will love them.

I don't have Netflix and probably wont get until I upgrade my flat screen. Rogers wants to give me Netflix if I bundle my technology - fat chance of that happening. Once the holidays have passed, I'll upgrade my flat screen and I'm going with an Android Box. Fangu Rogers yer going basic.

Besides I still love going to the movies. My most anticipated film isn't even part of Marvel/DC, it's Stephen King's The Dark Tower. With Da Man and The Texas Lounge Lizard in the leads they can't possibly fuck it up. And the lastest news is that our own Katheryn Winnick is on board.

The quintet of actors that will carry The Dark Tower are Idris Elba, Matthew McConaughey, Jackie Earl Haley (Watchmen - Rorshach), Katheryn Winnick and Abby Lee (MM: Fury Road).

I love Lagertha, she's nasty sexy! SPOILER ALERT, she doesn't survive her wounds from the end of Season 4.

dont hate on Gal Gadot. Just watch keeping up with the joneses trailer. She looks smoking hot in it. Can she act? she does a decent job. Shes not very much different than linda carter in terms of acting ability. Tho id take linda carter over anyone.
