Here's an interesting breakdown of the demographics of US sports fans broken down by league:

NHL fans are rich and white.
NBA fans are young and black.
MLB fans are old and white.
MLS fans are young and Hispanic.

I'm not surprised by the findings. Maybe would've thought the PGA, had the richest fans. Since hockey in the states is so regional and expensive in youth leagues, it makes sense. Where I live, the best youth hockey leagues, are in upper middle-class areas.

I'd be worried if I was the PGA. Their demographic looks the same as model train collectors (i.e., old and soon to be dead). Lowest of the 2-34 demographics as well. No wonder golf courses are closing.

NHL income demographic surprised me. Over $100K was the biggest of the bunch. For some reason I was thinking it would be NFL or PGA but everybody other than the NHL is average income.
