My vet is a sweetie, but she's closed today.
I'll give her a big hug next time I see her. :p

I think it was pretty funny, and that you should lighten up.

It's interesting that you show more reverence for Cozumal than you do for those who defended our freedom (and helped rescue your ancestors).

Not on this topic.:(
Please go to a mirror, look into it and try to say with a straight face: "I am deeply offended because sombody made a pun about Vets"

Every good punner knows there is a time and place for it. This thread isn't one of them.
You do the same.

PS: If, after that you are still indignant, please consider that this is an Escort review board.

In the correct context yes I do make puns involving the military, everyone does. This thread was started by me as a tribute to those who went ashore on the pebble beach that morning It was a COSTLY bloody lesson and far too many died but the Allies learned a lot and put it to good use in '44. Last summer I went over to Normandy and stood on the exact beach my Dad waded ashore on early morning 6/6/44, it was heartbreaking.

when I think of the terrible casualty rates in Aug'42 I'm consoled to some degree by the thought that the lessons learned at Dieppe may have in some way allowed my Dad to survive and I'm VERY thankful for that.

Please refrain from making any suggestions that the poor offhand quip regarding the dog dr was in anyway funny and don't suppose you can in any way understand my motivation for starting this thread. Good men were killed and badly wounded that morning with many enduring further as POW's. It is not something that anyone who enjoys the freedoms of this Country should make lite of.

Sorry, I fail to see what that has to do with anything.

I wouldn't say I'm indignant by your response. Neither would I say I'm surprised by it.

OK, you two, have it your way. Just remember that your fathers,
who's unquestioned bravery you take credit for, fought for free speech.

PS: the post that so offended you was not at all
offensive toward the veterans.

Can't wiggle out of the hole you're in with that one. Nice try though.

Have a real nice lunch and relax. Things are not as bad as they seem.

I'm not taking credit for their bravery, I'm just appreciative of it. Besides, no one is denying you free speech.

Anyway, nonsense aside, thanks again Vets.
