Does MS offer Leased software options for Office?

I know that there are some companies which might offer a lease on a computer which "happens" to include Microsoft Office.

What I'm wondering is whether anyone is aware of the legalities of such an offering. As far as I can tell, Microsoft Office software licenses do not offer an option to lease (well, at least not in North America - I do seem to find somthing for Ireland). Does anyone have any relevant facts? Does Microsoft offer leases for MSOffice? (And if so, does anyone know what the pricing structure looks like? Is it purely up to the vendor (without any additional revenues accruing to Microsoft)? Does Microsoft get a fixed or percentage cut of any such lease? What price range might one expect to pay?)

Again, my own impression is that this is not available, and that each company leasing computers (even for a short interval) must purchase their own licenses for whatever software they may or may not actually use on such machines (including MS Office). But I would welcome any contrary information (preferably with corroborating links).

MS is a cash for profit company.......you might want to try other options.

You can lease from Dell and have it include XP/Vista and Office as part of the lease. The cost of the MS licenses are built into the lease and are returned to Dell when the lease is over. HP and IBM have the same kind of PC leases. All that really happens is Dell buys the license and recovers the full cost over the period of the lease (or "fair market value").
