If you go shell collecting, the best time is in the morning after a windy night with lots of waves.
There are great bird watching opportunities throughout the island too.
Model trains? Not so much.
Blackbeard's can be good, but stuff to do aside from sex is limited because of their comparatively remote location. I would recommend a couple of days at Blackbeard's & a few in Sosua. New Garden hotel was great, imo. I wasn't overly impressed with the talent in Sosua, but some guys I know on another board swear by it. I know there's also some info in the international section at the bottom of the terb main forum page.
it was beautiful my friend, about 20 guys staying there while I was there and each day and night there was 30 to 40 girls....they swim, play games, allowed to hang around all day and night....only condition they get is they are there to entertain :amen:
You should also mention that prices are fixed by the establishment, so there's no negotiating with the girls. There are 2 mamasans on site in case there are any issues with the girls as well.
Yeah, I've heard of it, but never got over there. I also heard it was closed when I last went to DR the end of July 2012.
Field of Dreams, the one across the highway from the big resort, closed years ago, or at least moved to location closer to Puerto Plata. I believe that location also closed a number of years ago.

EXACTLY!!!...I stayed at that resort on a all inclusive paid by AirMiles, with the intentions of moving about, told a resort guy I was going to Blackbeards for a couple of days, he said "see that walled in place across the road, go have a look".....I did...didn't come back for two days LOL
I was there on business a couple of months ago, in several locations along the south coast. I remarked to my clients about all of these nightclub/car wash businesses I kept seeing as I was driven around. I thought that was an odd combination. It was also odd that the signs were in English, not Spanish.
They just laughed and said you don't go to the car wash to get your car washed. I never went in but you may want to check it out.
