Donating a PC and Monitor?

Does anyone know where I could donate a used PC and Monitor.

I bought a new one for a family member and have no need for the PC and 2 monitors.

well, there's always goodwill and just about any local charity would want it. But if I may ask, what are the specs? If it is too old (say a PII) and the monitors are like 14", some might not take it because it is a liability (due to disposing of it).

Make sure you cleanse it before you give it away.

One of the businesses I own is an aftermarket reseller of nearly blleeding edge stuff coming off a 1 or 2 year corporate lease. We bid wholesale. A couple of times my guys have found really interesting stuff on machines that not been purged by the corporate IT dept. We play by the rules so it was removed without records kept but it demonstrates just how easily an ooops can happen.

You could also put it up for free on freecycle.org
Many people give away items that they no longer need on there and I am sure a less fortunate family would love to have it even if it is not top of the line.

Craigslist has a freebie section. I posted a monitor and some guy from a church came and picked it up.

Yeah but you need either a second video card or a good one that comes with a splitter for a second monitor. You can't just do it with any old computer. Just a caution of sorts, I guess....

There is a small charge of $10 per monitor, but it is a small price to pay but you do get a charitable receipt for tax purposes.

York region has depots. Usable parts are given to charities. Otherwise properly recycled. ie: No lead in our water & landfills.
