Hi everyone,

Would you be able to tell me which hotels downtown Ottawa are good for SPs to stay in if they were visiting Ottawa? They need to be nice, discreet, and no room card needed to use the elvators.

I have been to the Lord Elgin, Chateau Laurier, Minto Hotel, and The Delta for hobbying, and they were all pretty good. Can anyone confirm that those are still SP friendly?

PLEASE contribute if you have any info. I have had a few PMs from agencies and ladies who are considering visiting Ottawa, so any info you can provide will really help us getting some visitors.

Thanks!!

In addition to those listed here are a few more that are reasonably priced, clean and sp friendly with regard to easy and discrete access, access to some after 12 midnight may require buzzing to get in but otherwise for daytime and evening play they're great. The chateau is rather pricey and rarely offers deals so any provider working from there may charge more to cover there additional costs.

Chimo on St Laurent
Albert at Bay Suites
Radison Queen & Bay
National Queen & Bay
Extended Stay Cooper & Cartier
Holiday Inn Cooper & Cartier
Marriot Queen & Kent
Indigo Laurier & Metcalfe

These are outside the downtown core but also sp friendly and reasonably priced.
Hilton Lac Lemay
Ramada Casino
Chateau Cartier

Keep in mind though that Ottawa is a tourist destination so pricing and availability can be costly and difficult around certain festivals over the summer period.

Hi ironman1,

About your question...

I'd add Sheraton and the Westin Hotel. Westin is a good place for SP. It's a bit $$$ but it's very comfortable (4 starts) and you can find good deals if you book in advance.

Tell your friends they can book their hotel on priceline.com or hotels.com...these sites offer the best deals for hotels mentioned by CowBoy Kenny.

Always compare the rates on both sites since they change all the time.

The earlier they book their hotel room, the best rates they will get. Coming from a Montreal girl who comes often to Ottawa. ;)

Have a nice day ! xoxo

I didn't mention the westin due to price but also because of key card acess to use elevators beyond the 4th floor.

You can get the westin for cheap. All you gotta do is use betterbidding.com to see how much to pay on "name your own price" on priceline, or hotwire.. I've booked hotels at 50% off the listed priceline pricing by doing the name your own price thing.

If I may ask a related question ...which decent hotel location has the easiest, safest and most reasonable parking for both you fine gentlemen and for me too? :) appreciate any comments...
Travelodge on Carling and the 417, Few SPs use it and the parking is free. Decent clean hotel and easy access from the 417.

Copycraigs believes popular SP's might be more into the high end hotels in which will make the experience that much more unforgettable:wink:
Yes but there is no reasonable parking for those high-end hotels downtown, which is what Jessica was asking for.

For free parking in the 3 star zone you might consider the Southway Inn on Bank Street or the Hilton Garden Inn out near the airport. Both rate very well on TripAdvisor. I don't believe any of the 4 star Ottawa hotels offer free parking.

The Marriott Courtyard , formerly the hampton inn on coventry has free parking and is a bit of a step up from Travel Lodge. Agreed, the Southway Inn is a nice clean hotel but they do not appreciate the business from SPs, both providers and clients need to be very discrete when using this particular hotel. If they get wind of what you or your guests are up to they will make it their goal to have you leave.

Interesting enough there was a thread started by another member a while back and the idea was to purchase a grocery store gift card and by doing that they validate the parking!

Good tip for the client:)
Yeah sure; it's like SPJ is going to put that in the ad for her clients....

BTW, is there a potential for conflict of interest between your business and the theme of this thread? just saying...

You must be a member of The Circle Of Jerks, thought we got rid of all of them:wink:
With a clever observation like the one above you just became very credible among the TERB community and they will believe you the next time for sure.
Don't worry, I will not lower myself to your level and insult you back.:biggrin1:
