Smiley, German performance car enthusiasts ( Mercedes ) should not be questioning Cadillac reliability. Mercedes are some of the most unreliable cars out there right now. Two things your daddy shoulda taught ya, The birds and the bees and but Japanese........... Caddies do suck though.

Given...

...that I have no idea what he is saying, he might not be slamming the Caddy at all.

I do know in the two reviews I recently read in a language I COULD understand (Automobile and Car & Driver) the new STS was given high marks...high enough that it would seem to come down to personal preferences (vs. BMW, Audi and Mercedes) and that I have added it to my personal shopping list for when I soon get out of the lease on the SUV I no longer need.

I was invited to an event to drive the new C - Class Mercedes...I drove both the decaffeinated and Sport versions....was unimpressed with both, but might give it another try since best friend and another friend were in the car adding ballast.

He says that it is well equipped and a pretty good deal at $300,000 (price in Denmark), but that it does not match the BMW in driving.

Is that a typo?

No, the cadillac is DKr 1,600,000.00.

There are no car production in Denmark. When I lived there, the import tax on cars were 249%, and that was before the VAT of now 22%.

Car manufacturers used to make specially stripped cars for the danish market.

The Maclaren mercedes is priced at $2,000,000.00 (DKr 11,000,000.00)http://fpn.dk/motor/bil/article1144304.ece

Ah, European socialism at its best. Imagine if they slapped a 300 percent duty on cars here.

As to the test, it was done in the rain on a wet track. I can not take it seriously therefore.

European cars do handle well but I find there electrical systems suck, parts are out to lunch and you have to worry were you park them. Too much headache for nice handling.
Plus I find they handle well up to a point and the threshold between in control and out of control is a very thin line. North American cars give you an unstable feeling way before you actually spin out or loose control which is a lot safer.

Actually, it is not as stupid as it sounds. Unlike Canada,
Denmark has no automobile industry, and the high import
tarif made the auto manufacturers build specially cheap cars for the danish market.
Not many gas guzzling behemoths make it to Denmark.

Do you realize what percentage of time the roads in denmark
are wet? It would be fraudulent to do a driving test on a dry road.
