Looks like it's the only way to book SPs these days without using your main phone. Anyone know if you can just buy any SIM and get it to work on a modern Rogers iPhone?

Just buy a Seven Eleven speakout phone as a Hobby phone, that's what I do.

Ditto, even use an old phone of your own. $25 for the SIM and as little as $10 for pay as you go time for text and voice. All done in cash at the local 7-11, no ID for purchase and only an email needed to set up. Bingo

Ah f-ck. Wanted to avoid the extra phone, but maybe I'll pick one up.

eSims are coming. Not exactly sure of all the details or how they will work but having a 2nd number on the same phone might not be much of an issue in the future.

Nope, not even close to the only way. There have been so many threads about this.... i would hate for you to go through unecessary effort when there are countless threads with options...

just buy a sim and swap it in and out, phones are not carrier locked anymore

you can buy a case for the sim card too which is handy so it doesn't get lost

you could also use text apps although some sp's don't allow them

Yeah I'll probably try that. Went to a 7/11 just now and this particular one didn't have any cellphones.

No harm in buying a cheap SIM and checking it out.

Remember if you go that route make sure you put that extra phone where nobody can find it

iPhone is using eSIM
So you do not need a 2nd physical SIM

You can put as many eSIMs on the phone as you wish (note ONLY 2 will be active at any given time tho)
