Bradley--Trailblazer

Bradley was a trailblazer in journalism for blacks... but this would be diminishing the man's accomplishments in the field. He was a great professional regardless of color....

He deserves all the respect and honor... RIP...

Nice tribute tonight on 60 Minutes for Ed Bradley. It was fun to see past clips of stories he obviously enjoyed, as well as those more troubled that displayed his skills as a reporter. He was a genuine man, and unafraid to be so in a media where this is more and more rare.

I couldn't agree with you more. I always try to catch 60 minutes, and it will not be the same without him.

Ed Bradley had a unique ability to not use his skin color to get the story. He knew it would be an issue but he never brought it up as ne didn't have to. Go ahead stare a black man in the face on camera and tell him why you are a racist on national TV. Most could not do it and he proved his point by just being there and having the guts to ask the right question. Tell me why?

In his early years he used an unflappable sense of gentility with humour to get his story. But he was brutal when the opportunity presented itself.

He was a gentleman and a world class reporter.

I admired the fact that while he knew his days were numbered he went after personal stories to him, those left unsolved, those stories not yet fully told. Tying up loose ends.

And, the stories he could relate to while knowing he was dying. He gave a perspective few could maintain under those conditions.

He was a mans man.

I think this was the essence of Ed Bradley... there seemed to be no "posing", no theatrics, no acting with him. I had the utmost respect for him and the way that he conducted himself...
