Quick question to the electricians out there.

Can loomex wiring touch BX?

I've got a 14-2 loomex cable running through holes in my floor joists and in the same hole in the joists is a BX cable.

I know that loomex should never touch a duct,or copper pipe, or gas pipe.

But what about BX?

Thanks

I would check Canadian electric code, it is a lot more strict the US code. Keep in mind the outside of the BX if installed properly installed, is grounded. I know low voltage lines are not to share the same hole, so you may want to double check. That being said, if the hole is big enough, I can't see a safety issue, but still doesn't mean it's not against code.

You always have to ground your Shielding. It goes without saying. BX for the most part protects your wiring. But is more expensive. It is the cable of choice in an industrial environment.
