Never knew they were Jewish. They must root for the Hebrews when they have a basketball game ... heheVincenzoTurismo said:T
The Beastie's were a bunch of rich jewish kids who rapped about fighting for your right to party in the 80's.
Don't know about "street cred" but The Beastie Boys are considered one of the major reasons for rap crossing over and have credibility in the industry. If you are talking about 'rap', it wasn't always about the hard life and street cred. Go back to the early days of rap with the Sugar Hill Gang and Curtis Blow and later with RUN DMC and rap was different then. Public Enemy started the harder edge rap/hip-hop movement. There are rappers who look at today's rappers and wonder what the heck is going on. Anyway I could be wrong but I wouldn;t be surprised if 20 years from now the Beastie Boys are remembered more in their rap history than EnimemVincenzoTurismo said:The Beasties are a good bunch of old school rappers, but Eminem is pure hip hop. With the new age of hip hop, and rapping about drugs, violence, the ghetto and the hard-knock life...Eminem hit's it dead-on.
The Beastie's were a bunch of rich jewish kids who rapped about fighting for your right to party in the 80's. Eminem has street cred, and he stays away from the bling and sings about what matters.
His heart lies in todays hip-hop society, and even though the Beastie's can still be chart toppers, they cannot surpass Eminem in true heart-felt lyrics and record sales.
Eminem is not only considered the best white rapper, he is considered one of the best rappers of all time.
