What's funny is if you look at the few times this was done in the past it was because of racism. Contained in the article above.

This will go nowhere beyond more grumbling about the EC. A few pundits and minor members of Congress calling for reform. And......then back to the same old. With a few faithless electors fined and removed. And a tighter vetting of them in the states where it happened.
