ER Chat?

It hasn't let me in for the past few days. I even signed up again but still no. Maybe it is the hotel's ISP or something. I'm on the road.
thats likely it, when I'm at my fav Toronto hotel, their high speed I can't log onto chat, yet the same lap top works fine on my home high speed, or dial up from the hotelgypsy121 said:

In the box where you type your lines of chat enter the following, without the quotation marks.
"/ping"
Then hit enter.
You will see an entry on the screen which will say something like "450 ms". This will be the time in milliseconds for a message to go from your computer to the server and bounce back. It is a measure of your connection speed. Entering it is called "pinging the server".
I have frequently found that with the new version of Java I am running since XP Service Pack II came out, that I have the same problem that gypsy complained of. Pinging the server has always forced it to finish logging me into chat.
