Escort is bit refine & to make it more refine & respected than u can say Service Provider, & the Supreme Most Respectable is Courtesan:)
Whereas Prostitutes & Whores is considered bit rough & rude to those ladies in adult industry.
Respect to Ladies should be our first & foremost objective, they may belong to any field, if they are not in adult biz then who is going to service John's who are in this addictive hobby, & that is why its an oldest profession now they call it biz (LOL)

An escort in this context is the same as a prostitute. It is just a nicer way to refer to them.

Wrong, Guy7. It is the 2nd oldest profession. Begging comes first. Someone had to ask for it. :)
After first trying the 2nd oldest profession I've been begging for it ever since!!

Those who ask for contribution before performing the service are prostitutes; those who first do the chores then receive gratitudes are escorts.

Nice! How about if they don't mention the money at all
... OR ... how about if they pay you?

IMHO it is a measure of hygiene, i.e. a prostitute carries somewhat of a skanky reputation (and I use that word loosely)

Have we not all "prostituted" ourselves at one point in our lives? Probably during the job interview process... :p

Noun
  1. a woman who engages in sexual intercourse for money; whore; harlot.
  2. a man who engages in sexual acts for money.
  3. a person who willingly uses his or her talent or ability in a base and unworthy way, usually for money.
Verb
  1. to sell or offer (oneself) as a prostitute.
  2. to put to any base or unworthy use: to prostitute one's talents.

a different view is a prostitute or stweetwalker does just that walk the street, a escort is sent by an agency to "ESCORT" you somewhere, even if it is just to the bedroom

yes, an escort is there to provide companionship and company for money while a prostitute offers sex for money.

Here
Goes to show you how far we have come.

Obviously, if we consider the term "prostitute" to be demeaning in some way, then it tells us a great deal about what we think of the profession or the services that these women provide.

So, if we sanitize the word, then we can participate with a clear conscience.

Escorts, courtesans, SP's... OK, I have no objection to any of them, but they are each and every one prostitutes. And I have no objection to that word, either!

Sheesh!!! How do you spell h-y-p-o-c-r-i-s-y?

An escort is a class of prostitute -- just as a fast food cook or short order cook is a class of chef.

You wouldn't confuse someone flipping burgers at Wendys with a chef at a 5 star restaurant, would you? There's as much (or more) distinction between different levels of prostitutes.

Escorts are not the highest end. Again, the restaurant model applies -- there's everything from hotdog vendors on the street and vending machines in corporate lunchrooms to the highest end restaurants & caterers where the prices aren't even given on the menu.

Prostitution is the name of the industry. Escort is the name of the market segment.

Yeah, it's kinda like trying to distinguish between a lawyer, a shyster, or a pettifogger! :p

Escorts who work from a reputable location/or hotels.
Prostitutes & whores operate from roads.
Shares of Escorts are sold at a higer premium rates at TSX
While P's & W's shares are of lower premium. LOL!
Escorts are like Gourmet Dishes, whereas Prostitutes are like hot dogs from the street vendors.
