Trump proposes to withdraw from NAFTA by executive order, without consulting Congress.

Do you consider that an abuse? Or is it only a bad thing when the other guy does it?
When he does it a lawsuit will be filed.

Trump will not simply withdraw from NAFTA. He'll go to the bargaining table and renegotiate. And Mexico and Canada will agree.

How did this thread get turned on Trump all of a sudden, thought we were talking about Obama's executive order? LOL

Yes, by threatening to cancel it, he will try to have it re-negotiated. However, I don't think he knows a lot about NAFTA or it's history. Perhaps it needs re-tweaking but maybe this will give Canada an opportunity to re-negotiate if we have an axe to grind. Trump thinks this is like negotiating a construction contract, but it's not the same.

To get back on topic, Obama issued fewer EO's than other modern Presidents, only that his had more restrictive language.

And that they were far wordier 1,086 pages for President Obama while President Bush (43) only wrote 922 pages and President Clinton 781 pages.

Just cut him some slack, he is not even in office yet. Odds are that he is no less establishment than hillary or obama, so probably NAFTA and existing trade agreements will not be touched. No need to go mental before Trump actually does something to make you go mental.

I pointed out that Trump has promised to do the same thing and gave an example. Trump has said he will make extensive use of executive orders.

You say that's undemocratic. I'm unclear WHY you think so, Presidents including both Obama and Trump are in fact elected.

But you ought to be consistent. If you think it was undemocratic when Obama did it then you ought to condemn Trump for planning to do it.

Of course I expect you won't. You apply different rules based on your partisan views. That's hypocrisy, but in a democracy you have every right to be a hypocrite.

Keystone XL which was passed by the democratically elected House and Senate was killed by Obama. Surely that is an example of presidential abuse of power (legal but undemocratic).

Since the GOP controls both the House and Senate, it is unlikely that Trump will resort to EO's to kill bills passed by the House and Senate.
