Hi iam planning on taking a trip to the united states in the spring and i was surfing Expedia.ca and they have some good deals but its seems to good to be true on some of the package deals. My question is has anyone used their services and what was it like are they dependable in the prices offered for hotels ,plane tickets etc. thx

I have booked Hotels in Toronto with Expedia, never had a problem

I agree, keep searching. I stayed in Toronto last week. Expedia wanted $109 per night. Did some further searching and got a room in the same hotel for $81.

Deals vary from day to day , hotel to hotel and package to package . There is no one place that is best all the time for every location . I used expedia for a recent package trip to Las Vegas . It was on American West airline and I stayed at one of the top two hotels in Vegas . I also use expedia for hotels in Mtl . Probably not as cheap as priceline but at least you know exactly which hotel you are booking .

If you're asking if expedia is dependable, the answer is yes. I've booked many hotels through it. But there are better deals out there if you search around.

Last year my wife and I spent three nights in Chicago. The flights, 5 star hotel plus a city tour and all taxes cost less than $1300 Canadian. That was for the two of us, not each!

This is bang on. You still got put in some effort and search.

However, better deals were available in the past, especially when you talk about hotel rooms only. Hotels have realized that the could sell discounted rooms themselves instead of releasing blocks to these discounters. Check hotel websites (and call as well) and you may find rates similar or even lower than the Expedia,etc rates.
This has really hurt the Expedia business model.
