Xarir's Theory

The ignition of the gasoline on the outside of the wood created a relative low pressure on the outside of the pile as the oxygen immediately surrounding the wood was consumed by the gasoline fuelled fire. The higher pressure inside the wood pile expanded outwards thus "exploding" the wood pile.

Mind is a little overactive right now ...

A real pro uses diesel. Takes longer to catch but much safer and it burns longer. We use it in construction to burn trash all the time.

Not that I would advocate ever doing that...never ever.

I f you lack the skill to light a fire without chemicals, one hopes you'll have the brains to use ones formulated for the purpose: BBQ lighter fluid comes to mind.
Gasoline is formulated to explode, only gunpowder or rocket fuel would be a stupider choice.
A bit of newspaper and some expertise would be safest of all.
Especially the expertise part.

When holidaying this summer, try sprinkling Coffee-Mate® over the campfire.

Wood burner just doesn't work when there are wet leaves or logs. It needs something heartier. Kerosene is the best.

Those were Germans in the video. I bet those 2 are mixed with Polish to show extra intelligence.
