In answer to the original question: Various nature preserves and parks in WNY and the Niagara Peninsula. Why? Forest Drenching. You ought to try it...
I have been to France but not Spain nor Italy.Eastern Europe is on my bucket list.
I’d love to go to Prague, but haven’t had an opportunity yet. I should have stopped there when I visited Germany.
You’ve probably done France, Spain, and Italy.
If so, I would recommend visiting Croatia. Hvar, Split, and Dubrovnik were all great and I would highly recommend visiting them.
I lived in Nova Scotia for a while. Peggy's Cove is awesome. I also recommend Lunenburg and Cabot Trail when you visit the East coast.i,m Canadian....visiting Peggy,s Cove...and The Rocky Mountaineer would appeal to me....................
Regarding Croatia as a whole, we spent one week on the north west coast, then drove south towards Dubrovnik stopping at Plitvice for an overnight stay at a lovely spot, then spent 2 days at Dubrovnik which had been renovated after their war with Bosnia, stayed for a week in Tivat as Dubrovnik was so crowded with tourists. Croatia was among the best countries I have visited, beautiful scenery, great accommodations, very reasonably priced, safe and very friendly people, and their wine is good and cheap.LOL. Re golf, not at Fox, but p!ayed the No. 1 course in Canada for many years, Highland Links in Ingonish, and also Crowbush Cove. Could gone on about this forever.Sounds like you live a beautiful life! Full of exploring and savouring our wonderful world!
I just looked up some pics of Plitvice and it is almost psychedelic in its striking beauty. This place goes to the top of my list! Pre-covid I was in the planning process of organizing a smal group to spend a month in that spring to sail the Dalmation Coast before the main tourist season started. Then onto exploring the cities. I think that I might just skip the big expense of sailing and instead explore Croatia. I can just feel the beauty iof Croatia by your words! A (late) business acquaintance was Croatian and he spent every year from April to July there and said words could not express the beauty of Croatia.
Not much of a golfer but appreciate the landscaping! Did you ever get to play Fox Harb'r in Nova Scotia?
Been to all of them, Cabot trail was magnificent.I lived in Nova Scotia for a while. Peggy's Cove is awesome. I also recommend Lunenburg and Cabot Trail when you visit the East coast.

What do you mean by forest drenching? You mean the deciduous forests in the area are so lush because of being drenched? In answer to the original question: Various nature preserves and parks in WNY and the Niagara Peninsula. Why? Forest Drenching. You ought to try it...
True.Thanks for the input.
As of now, the currency in Croatia is Euro. So I think its more expensive to travel there now.
Yes, I would recommend Germany, but I found Croatia magical.I have been to France but not Spain nor Italy.
How was your trip to Germany? Would it recommend it?
I don't much about Croatia beside that they have a good soccer team haha. What is it about Croatia that you like?
I think that was quite recent. It was the Dinar back then. Thanks for the input.

Also, for any golfers out there, the Algarve area in Portugal has many great golf courses and the scenery on the coast is beautiful.I’ve been to more countries than I can count but those stand out as my top 3. Europe is a wonderful part of the world with so much diversity and something to do for everyone.
- Croatia is a must do. Especially if youre into sailing. Plitvice is like paradise on earth but you cant miss Krka also. You can hear the ocean music(sea organ) at Zadar. Food is delicious. Have to be careful when hiking in certain spots.
- Iceland is worth the hype but alot of it feels like Canada, especially the eastern part. The Blue Lagoon is also worth it but its so close to the airport so do it just before you leave or right when you arrive. And book early! Food is crazy expensive but the sights are amazing. See the geysers, northern lights, glaciers, waterfalls, etc and you cant leave without trying the fermented shark. If you dare lol
- Madrid Spain. Markets everywhere The most savoury gourmet tapas for just 5€ and the women are stunning natural beauties. Its very sunny and hot even in February. A very relaxed vibe and friendly people. The nightlife is very diverse too.
Highest vertical drop on Earth, 1,250 metres. Mount ThorIf I had terminal disease and knew my time was up, I think I might go tot he Akshayuk Pass on Baffin Island and choose that as the place it all comes to an end.
It almost seems fake, like something generated by CGI for a fantasy movie.
Another note on Portugal is the cheap cost of train travel. Went from Faro on the Algarve to Lisbon to fly back to Canada, distance about the same as Toronto to Ottawa, on a high speed train up to 300kms per hour, cost, senior rate 8 Euros. Via rail from T O to Ottawa, $160.FWIW, the Douro Valley in Portugal keeps getting recommended to me as a place to take the wife. You can drive it or do a river tour back apparently.
