Apparently, there is a report out there that says the weather in Toronto over the next 20-30 years will be hot and hotter.

15 degree forecast for tomorrow, January 30th.

there is a climate shift going on. west is cooling down and the east is warming up. global warming may or may not be real but the temps are changing.

The report said that hotter weather will bring many problems. Higher air conditioning costs, floods, hurricanes(?), more insects, more nude people(?) and the dreaded "porchpeople" will sit out there for 12 months a year instead of their normal 10 months now.

It's irritating that these school board cretins cancel school buses forcing the parents drive kids to schools in hundreds of individual cars. Great fucking job saving the environment and helping with traffic, morons.

If I never see snow again it would be too soon.

Don't worry, a cold front is on its way, hopefully we dodge a big snow fall but I wounder even thought its not forecast.

This winter has been more then enough for me already, I'm ready for spring ! I can only hope this year is a warm as last year. You want snow head north, lol

My understanding is that they cancel school buses because they have a duty to keep your kids safe. It's then up to you whether you feel it's a risk to take them in yourself. I don't think the environment or traffic has anything to do with it.

Fuck their duty. Practical reality is that when school buses are canceled every kid gets driven to school by a parent in a single car. So we have twenty times more cars on the road and parents late for work. And bus is safer anyways. It just flies in the face of common sense.

Fuck, I don't blame them. If something does happen they'll have a shit storm on their heads. They're responsible for many, many young lives. How often does Toronto actually cancel their buses anyway?

They cancel whenever they don't like the weather, like yesterday and today.

Yeah, but what's the average in a year? 5 days? 10 days? I can't see a city like Toronto having a lot of weather-related bus cancellations. Sure, they're a pain in the ass for parents who now need an alternative plan for their kids. Not having kids myself, I have no idea how often this happens, and I'm sure I don't understand the full scope of the inconveniences it causes. I just thought it odd to balance children's safety against the environment and people getting to work late.

I personally hope for wetter winters and less snow. I've never liked the cold. I lived in Seattle for awhile for work, and loved the rain, and when it did snow it was the fluffy stuff and didn't freeze and blow around in the bitter temperatures as it does here. Uh, I'd love to be back there. *laments*
