Yeah I caught it on TMN last night as well. I saw it when it came out in the theaters and remembered how pissed I was after. Well again it only reinforced my views on the Bush administration. Dubbya and his band of old men are a dirty bunch, and only years from now when it is all said and done will it be revealed how dirty they actually are. Their is billions of dollars being made by a select group of people and the American public just chooses not to see it. Even Clinton who was thought to be immoral or what not did not make billions in corporate gain, and he was almost impeached for getting head. I would rather my president get head, then go to war for oil. You are right Rami, this documentary was brilliant.

It's funny...since the last election he has little to say about politics. It's almost like he has been thinking"what else do I have to show you folks?".......It was a good documentary....i know some have said that it was biased....BUT when you ask a simple question like"Did or did not the federal goverment aide dozens of relatives of the man who engineered the most barbaric act of terrorism in US history to leave the country... days after the attacks...with no questioning....nothing..zip zero ziltch...is that or is that not true?...or it is...there's little room for haggling.cheers

Some dispute that story of key officials leaving days before 9/11.

It'd be interesting to watch the counter doc farenhype 9/11..... queen video has a copy.

I have a love hate thing for Moore. Remember Bowling for Columbine? He does that comparison of US vs Canada and looks at homes with unlocked doors. He tries to paint Canada as this unlocked country but its been my experience that many homes lock their doors. I always did, mind you when I was a kid I remember some parents just left the doors unlocked so the kids could come and go. He then goes on to show how safe compton is. Well of course it is if you are carrying a giant camera. My buddy made a wrong turn in LA and had a shotgun pointed at his face..... the only thing that saved him was a car rounding the corner distracted the guy and my friend made a made dash.

Anyways, while I like the general message of Moore. I am sometimes suspect of his arguments since he can be biased at times.

Not sure if its true but I also heard that in 9/11 the scene where Moore approaches Senators about sending their kids to fight, one of them responds that they do have a kid away in the war (but not shown in the movie).

Thing about films in general is that they can be editted to present anything you want. Perfect example is the link people have provided with a trailer for the shining where they make it seem like a completely different story (i.e. from horror to feel good movie).

there is alot of cut and paste editing by Moore, like where he ambushed the US senators to sign up their kids, well one of them responded he had two nephews in Afghanistan and of course never shown. The opening scenes where he claims the Bin Laden family was escorted out of the US a few days after Sept 11, well at that time the skies were not fully re opend for travel but they were allowed to do only after every member of that travelling group was questioned thoroughly by the FBI and again not stated in the movie.

His Bowling for Columbine, Canada-US comparison was a bit hilarious too, also the scene where he listed all the leaders in the world that had been overthrown with or by American help was one sided, how about the scene where he used Serbian tv footage to show what the US bombing did in Kosova, how about showing us how the US saved the Kosovar Albanians from extermination hmmm

Yeah, we Canadians bitch about adscam.

Adscam is kindergarten stuff compared to what kind of corruption is going on in the US re: Iraq.

All the bushites have to do though is wrap themselves up in the flag and it's carte blanche to steal.

Michael Moore is the left's version of Bill O'Reilly.
They both have their own agendas.

With one HUGE difference.

Michael Moore LOVES Canada. Bill O'Reilly HATES Canada with a passion.

Guess which guy I like more.

BTW

When I am home, I never lock the doors.

Hell, sometimes when I go out on a short trip, I don't lock the doors.

I always lock the door when I go to work, or for an extended period (obviously).

Don't be so naive. Moore does NOT LOVE Canada. Moore (like many Americans w/an agenda) like to use Canada for his own agenda. As long as Canada fits HIS vision of how it should be he will praise it. He lost what little respect I had for him when he (as an all knowing American) was lecturing us on who to vote for in OUR elections last year (don't vote for Bush, Jr. - Harper... not understanding that we do not vote specifically for a PM specifically like for Prez in the US). Don't you hate when the US tells us how we should run our country? But where was the outrage when Moore was telling us who we should vote for? We would have lost his LOVE if the Conservatives won. Just like we would have gained LOVE from O'Reilly if the Conservatives won.

No. Moore does not "LOVE" Canada.

He is working on "Sicko", a view about health care. However, it is getting harder to make movies for him because nobody wants to be interviewed by him anymore. That's why he is low key.

I noticed.....

he gave a lot of details with names but he never once mentioned a single name of the 'Bin Ladens' that took off shortly after 911. Now could they be just Bin Ladens NOT related to Osama?

anyone who likes this leftwing wank off should watch the rebutle film fahrenHYPE 911. it exposes some of the half truths and outright lies in moore's film. it's quite shocking to actually see how far this obese peacenick goes to make his point.

Ummm they WERE directly related to Osama and he stated so in the film. If memory serves they were aunts uncles and a couple of nephews I think.....

While yes, editing etc on any film can be used to prove your point. Umm that's what people DO during interviews, documentaries, when quoting statistics, during legal battles etc.

I approached Farenheit 9/11 with this attitude: if only 20% of what he said was true, that is TOO much.

As for bowling for columbine: Did he say anything that wasn't true? ANYWHERE in the film? I don't think so.....

Just remember: we NEED people like Moore to show the other side of the coin, it is all about checks and balances. If we didn't have people like him around just imagine what the Bush's of the world would be doing?

I agree with you 130%:D

Both sides of any issue will be less than 100% accurate. People should learn that the truth is always somewhere in the middle. Not exactly in the middle. Sometimes it's pretty close to the side! But it's always somewhere between the extreme portrayals of each side.

Having seen both films and read quite a lot about this topic, I think Moore got it roughly 40% right. However, that's good enough to consider his work to be a valuable check on Bush propoganda.
