firefox disappearing bookmarks

mozilla browser bookmarks
lost half of current list today
it's like it reverted back to an earlier list

how do i find my most current list
what is the problemo
does mozilla have a fix/solution/patch etc

any info is appreciated

I had the same problem with Opera before but not Firefox. Saving my bookmarks periodically in a backup folder solved the problem, but it's a PITA though.

Better that than losing the whole lot.

It also happened to me with Firefox, it somehow reverted to my old Explorer bookmarks.
I don't know how I fixed it after fiddling for ages, I believe I have 2 settings now and had to make the other one the default.
