1. He has a congenital displacement of his fifth lumbar vertebra, called spondylolisthesis, which is why he lays down on the floor in front of the Suns bench when he's not playing.

2. He's popular. He ranked fifth in jersey sales last season, behind Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Allen Iverson. His likeness was carved into a cornfield maze at a farm in Queen Creek, Ariz., last summer. It created a four-mile walking space within a 10-acre cornfield.

3. Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was moved to write a 4,412-word blog to explain why he let Nash escape as a free agent in 2004. He didn't think Nash was durable enough to justify the price the Suns were willing to play. The blog was posted at 3:52 a.m. Nash has missed 16 games in three seasons since. The Suns have posted his off-season workout on their Web site, with a stern warning for people not to attempt it unless they're under the supervision of a certified strength and conditioning trainer.

4. He is famous for living as much like a normal person as possible. He calls the celebrity culture something "to distract the bored from their nothingness."

5. He is a major celebrity in Canada, where he's sometimes called "Can-Je." For Canadian Jesus.

Never heard of it either, but maybe it has to do with the shaggy mop top he had the last few years. I remember when I grew my hair the last few years I was being called Jesus by me friends. Especially when I had a week or two of facial growth. I even shaved into a handle bar moustache and went out as "Earl" for Halloween.

Never heard of it because it isn't true. Except for some clowns at EA Sports. Google it, check through newspapers, even obscure fan sites. The first appearance is in a Marc Stein piece for ESPN.com on July 26. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=stein_marc&page=Nash-interview

"Not that Nash should have been surprised by the flood of autograph seekers. The reverence he commands from his countrymen is best captured by the nickname they use for Nash at another Vancouver institution: Electronic Arts' massive games-producing campus in nearby Burnaby.

"Everyone here calls him Can-Je," said Sean O'Brien, a veteran producer on EA Sports' March Madness series."

Then Chip Brown repeats it in an article in the NYT on Oct 28. Then it is repeated by this goof in the Indy Star.

To paraphrase Goebbels, " A lie, repeated often enough, will end up as truth."

He would be making so much more in endorsements if he was a little better looking.

Nonetheless, you would be hard pressed to find a point guard with better fundamentals than him no matter how far you go back.

This has quickly become legend in basketball circles. I doubt that the average 'fit' person (or even most NBA players) could even complete a 10th of it.

Nash gets plenty of offers to do endorsements but limits himself only to those that suits his purpose and not because they offer a lot of money. There is a huge milk ad that's coming out and it was noted that he was in pretty exclusive company.
