How can you fire your gun without knowing who or what you are firing at? Especially if your adult daughter lives in the house? What happen if she goes to the kitchen for a drink and is going back to bed? AT least call out or something.

Not sure what the or something would be, but common sense would indicate a) take cover, b) call out loudly: HALT, identify yourself.

Perhaps even smarter go to a firearms course and learn the proper technique when using a flashlight and a pistol together.
