That is very disturbing. I'm just thankful I rescued my dog. To see the video of the way they are treated at puppy mills just disgusts me. I am glad they got my dog out of there and then into my home. At least he is one less dog to be used for breeding.
What am I saying that whole site disgusts me, but I understand it is needed to educate people about the facts behind different types of abuse.
Another bad thing is parents who buy thier children cute kittens or puppies at Christmas etc... and then the child becomes less interested as the pet matures to adult hood and then no longer pays attention to thier pet and the parents just get rid of it. Luckily my Mother taught me that if I choose a kitten that I have to love it no matter how old it gets and informed me that my pet would get older and grow up just the same as all living creatures do.
Yes, she took me to a pound once when I was younger and explained all this to me and I still chose a young kitten, but she did discuss it with me and she did try to persuade me to chose an older pet, but you know kids. In the end though I did keep my pet. My Mom would have it no other way. I still had to be responsible in taking care of my cat too. I believe all children should be taught in this way to respect thier pets no matter how old they are and is a good thing to teach them responsibility.
I agree with that site that if the children see that going on it does harden them and they will consider it the normal thing and think nothing of it.
