Not only has this developer syndicate's consigliere's scheme to steamroll over and crush any and all authority of the conservation authorities to safeguard the public good he is also going to fully shakedown the taxpayers to increase his benefactor's, the developer syndicate, haul.
This should not be a surprise to anyone, he has been like this since day one on the job. His #1 constituent has always been developers. All decisions are made through the lenses of the developer's eyes.
And none of these decisions will make housing any less unaffordable than it already is and has been since the financialization and monetization of housing since the great recession.
He can cut and gut, plump and fluff, plead and bleed, gift and grift any all goodies for his developer buddies, but these developers with Ford's largesse in their bank accounts will not build one single solitary housing unit if they can't make out like bandits. They just will sit on their properties, be it brown field, barren, swampy or ready to build with all the necessary permits and approvals ready to build for months, years and many years until they can shakedown as much profit as possible from them and us.
They will even arbitrarily rip up signed and sealed 'agreements for purchase and sale' if they feel they can squeeze out more profit.
