I really hope todays race in Australia is not indicitive of the rest of the F1 season, because it was sooooo boooorrrring. It was the Ferrari and Schumacher show again, for the 4th season in a row, or is it 5?

I can't believe the other teams that have the backing haven't been able to catch up to Ferrari by now. --- Kev

I didn't even bother watching last season, If Micheal Schumacher makes it to the first corner then race is pretty much over. Cart is my choice.

TSN had the Aussie GP live and it was the 1st race of the season. I think the curling was more exciting though.

Schumie has 6 championships, so he has been dominating for along time now. Maybe more to come.
Did anyone else see that prank that got pulled on Juan Pablo Montoya? Boy, some people can't take a joke.

I know its six championships, but how many are with Ferrari...........thats what i couldn't remember.

Montoya can't take a joke because of the tremendous pressure hes under. Maybe under different circumstances he would have thought it funny. I know in my arm chair i thought it was hilarous.

He actually bolted away from the dignitaries who sponsor him and he was suppose to meet. --- Kev

It's sad but I agree...not a whole lot to watch here. Looks like it will be worse than last year, when at least there was a little suspense around each race.

Schu has won 2 championships with Benneton and 4 with Ferrari. I have basically stopped watching F1 after being a fan for over 15 years. No passing, no passion and one great driver on one awesome team= a parade. And with JV gone Schu is the only driver in the series to have ever won a world championship. I don't see things changing any time soon. too bad.

Turn on NASCAR if you can pick it up and enjoy some real racing!

Here
But it's great if you are a Ferrari aficionado... just the way it used to be when they raced at the Glen, right pinappleguy?

And there is a lot more to F1 than who's in front... there are different circuits with totally different problems and challenges, tactics, breakdowns, spinouts, engineering, design, car set up and geometry, risk taking, taking it "to the max"... and just the sounds and sights of a well balanced machine roaring down a straightway and then entering, taking and exiting a corner at maximum speed... Anything can and does happen!

I guess you guys didn't enjoy Tiger, either, when he was winning every tournament in sight??!!

Formula 1 is a complete team sport, not just a spin around the circuit.

And, BTW, F1 and soccer around the world each outdraw all other North American sports... if that means anything!?

..............i'm not a Ferrari aficionado. I do like there production cars, but that doesn't mean i want to watch them dominate F1 again. We should agree that its the competition that makes sport interesting, and in F1 there isn't any. The last few years it has been a look see and wait attitude. To see which teams winter testing has given them an edge that would allow them to compete with Ferrari. This has been going on know for four years. And yet again we still see Ferrari dominating. Its real boring.

And further...

With the passing of tobbaco laws that prohibite the sponsorship of tobbaco on the cars. The FIA has to look at different venues more importantly different countries that will allow the advertisment of tobbaco on the cars. We have seen the problems here in Canada already. Ok it was solved temporarily for now, but it will only have to be addressed again in the future.

In 2006 the European Union will ban the advertisment of tobbaco on the cars. With the money that the tobbaco companies put into the teams Mr. Eccestone is working hard at trying to save that revenue. So what hes doing is taking the races to countries that don't have those laws. This year its China and Bahrain. In the future most of the of races we see today, could be moved to other tracks. Morroco, Russia, Turkey and few others that escape me are under consideration.

Wouldn't it be a shame not to see a Monaco Gran Prix, with all its history. I hope Bernie knows what hes doing. --- Kev

I agree, the races take so much planning and logistical energy from the crews. Some think that they are infact too planned out, every corner and every stop is planned, to a degree.

I'm a much bigger fan of WRC. Man, that stuff is damn crazy, I think it has to be the most exciting form of automotive competitions around. Those guys are hardcore.
