"Starting in August, anyone in France entering a café, restaurant, shopping center, or hospital, or taking a long-distance train, will have to show a special COVID-19 health pass, President Emmanuel Macron announced on July 12, 2021.

The increased restrictions in public spaces are aimed at containing the rapid spread of the highly transmissible Delta variant in the country.

The health pass — known officially as the EU Digital COVID Certificate — shows whether a person has been vaccinated against COVID-19, received a recent negative test result, or recovered from COVID-19.

Anyone over the age of 12 will also be required to show the pass to visit a movie theater, museum, live theater, theme park, or cultural center starting July 21.

Within 48 hours of Macron’s announcement, more than 2.2 million vaccination appointments were booked online."

Never been to France? They protest on a weekly basis just about everything. That was certainly expected.

On the other hand there has never been such a rush to get their shot. They are now seeing record numbers to get vaccinated. So the strategy will work.

For certain demographics they can't tell the difference between rights and privileges because for them that line never existed. What a shock it is for them when they realize they can't just do whatever they want at all times.

I can't wait! It fills me with so much joy knowing my parents, family, friends and colleagues are safe around me. I'd take the boosters right now if it was deemed safe by the medical/science communities.

There are plenty of opportunities where you can work from home. Hell you can start your own business. No one is taking away your right to earn a salary but employers have the right to determine you cannot work at their place of business if it's unsafe to others.

I show my ID whenever it's legitimately called for. My driver's license not only has my address and photo but it shows that I wear glasses. I make purchases online. I have social media profiles. You can find out more about me from my Facebook or LinkedIn than you would on my dose receipt. If someone wants to know what dose I received, I will be happy to tell them and to encourage them to do the same if they havent been.
If anyone believes that businesses would use your information for data collection, it bewilders me that they don't accept the likelihood that might ALREADY. Nowadays personal info is not that hard to come by if someone is motivated to find it.
A vaccine passport isn't going to tell your local Home Depot that you broke your arm in 2007 or had herpes in 2011. It's not going to divulge your turn-ons or what folder you have your computer porn saved on. I really think this belief that a vaccine passport will suddenly take away your privacy is extreme.
