I'm not trying to run down small places, I do like them, but a wide gamut of restaurants is usually not found in a small place,.
But the ones that are there usually have to survive by being patronized by people who are return customers in a small place,

Fredericton is a smaller government center, so manage your expectations and be pleasantly surprised.
I have not spent more than a few days there and that was over 20 years ago.
But my recollection was that by 7pm the place all had its jemmies on , and was getting ready to watch a bit of tv before going to bed.

I'm only going to be there for 2 nights for an event I've been invited to.
I've done some research on line and there are a couple of bona fide options.

Ah shit, I just looked. The Blue Door was decent but it's website says permanently closed.

Best breakfast is The Coffee Mill.

The Dining Room at the Delta was better than ok, but too expensive for what you get in my mind.

Fredricton certainly is a lovely little city, but the restaurant scene is dire.
