I just started to notice that in Explorer, when I use the "history" feature to show the webistes visited today, at the side of the browser, it shows the full name of this board (and not just TERB, but Toronto Escort Review Board).

For me, this could be embarrassing if someone uses this feature when they use my computer at home or at the office - I was wondering, is there any way to hide the name of this board so that no noe will figure out my extra curricular activites? In fact, I had a close call earlier today!

Alternatively, Fred, could you change the setting so that it never shows the word "Escort"?

MM, u could clear the history and remove all evidence yourself, from IE|Tools|internet options|clear History.

Punter - thanks, I did think of that, but i do not want to have to do it every time I log in here!

And of course, the one time I forget to clear it will be the one time someone looks!

Even if Fred changes the name to "Disney Land", if someone clicks on the link in the history IE will go to the terb site!

I still think it's better to always clean up - I know it's a pain, but after I've been surfing naughty sites including terb, I will not leave my computer until I clean the history, the cached pages and the cookies! Maybe I'm just paranoid. I'm also a clean freak!

Doesn't everybody...

Doesn't everybody...

Its just part of my routine,

Using the latest version of I.E. before I turn off the computer....

- Clear Cookies
- Delete Temporary Files
- Clear history

EACH and EVERY time - TWICE on Sunday's.

The newest IE version has a "# of days" to keep history.

I could write a .bat file to do it but I haven't bothered to learn how to do it.

Happy Hobbying

Unfortunately we need the words "Toronto" & "Escort" in our title because that's how people find us via the search engines.

You want to download some version of "history cleaner". There are dozens available on the net. Do a search on Google for

" cookie history cleaner "

punter:

if the name is innocuous enough, i doubt anyone would click on it or know what it is - but seeing the word escort would be a tipoff to an IT person, family member or anyone... its like camouflage.

Fred:

I am sure there are ways of embedding "toronto escort" in behind images or in some other way so that it will register in search engines but not show up in the cookies or in the history as "escort" - but then, I am not a techie.

Try:

http://terb.cjb.net

History will display : terb.cjb (terb.cjb.net )

That might address your concerns.
