Immigrants
Back in the 70's a man named Idi Amin had the same idea. Get rid of the the non-black population of a country called Uguanda. Only allow members of his own tribe to be the leaders of Uganada and have all the Power.
Between 1970 and 1975 so many people and so much money left the countries of Uganada, Kenya and Tanazania that their whole economy is now a slave to the Western world. Aids is rampant and there is very little heath care and education for their population.
Imagine what would happen if all the "Immgrants" starting selling everything and left Canada, the Canadian econony whould fall apart. The TSX index would go into negative numbers, the Canada Dollar would be worthless. Your $400K Toronto house would be worth about $50K if you could find someone to buy it.
Think about it, Canada needs us whether you like it or not!

I'm not saying that the guy in this case should be shown leniency, I'm saying that killing him won't solve anything.
The death penalty in any situation is ridiculous. First of all, if you kill someone then they'll never be able to learn or ever comprehend the effect of their actions. It's like when children throw food on the floor, you don't kill them, you show them that their actions are wrong and they'll grow to understand that and be a better person. Secondly, the death penalty is nothing more than a form of revenge, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. If you executed these murders, then you would not have to worry about, or even care, if they have learned from their mistakes or comprehend their actions when they are released into the population in 10 years, would you.

Immigrants.....Yea or Nay
While I agree with all the previous posts that this country is the way it is because of those who have immigrated here.
I disagree with those who come here and bring their countries beliefs and laws with them and feel that, as a result, they are above our laws.
While Canada is considered a 'Mosaic' of cultures and we allow individuals to practice their own religous and cultural beliefs there has to be limitations.
When a man can kill his wife for allowing another man into their home and get off with a 'slap on the wrist' because his culture allows him to behave in such a manner, the liberty's of an individual have exceeded those of society.
Personally, my message to those who come here would be something along the following:
"We welcome you to our country with open arms. We will, to the best of our ability respect your culture and it's beliefs. Should those beliefs result in actions that we, as a society/country, find unacceptable you will be subject to the laws of our land."
If we as Canadians must abide by the, sometimes ridiculous by our standards, laws of other nations then are we so out of line to expect the same????????

To single out one is wrong! The vast majority of people are good. It is very easy to point a finger and say they're different, it's their fault. How about taking some time to understand your differences. You may find that you are actually very much alike!
Always remember, every time you point a finger, there are 3 pointing back at you!
