Whenever there is a picture on a website, here on Terb or elsewhere they are all fuzzy on my screen, Is there an adjustment some where to clear them up abit? Or am I just out of luck. Nothing I do seems to work.
Thanks

well it's weird that it does it on the pictures and not on the fonts.

I'd still recommend that you check your eyes (lol sorry).

But the only way I know to unblur pictures is to use the sharpen effect on most image editing softwares.

now for your problem I have found some answers on forums:

i used to have the same problem (blurry images on internet explorer) with my new dell laptop. i've surfed the net a bit and i found one solution that worked for me. i don't know if it works for all computers or not but if you lower the dpi to the standard 96, the images and fonts should become clear again. this is done by right clicking anywhere on the desktop>properties>settings>advanced>general
and then you set the dpi to 96. however, the drawback is that everything in your computer displays smaller. i would recommend just downloading mozilla firefox to use as your browser as it's clear without having to change the dpi. hope that helps.
I found out what to do.

Right click the MSN Accelerator icon in your system tray and set the level to “none”.

"Acceleration" determines how pixelated and compressed the images become.
If you have MSN accelerator that is...

If you use the default settings you may experience the problem with blurry images in Internet Explorer. This effect is due to the automatic scaling in IE6 and above. IE tries to resize the images so that everything looks the same as when everything is at smaller dpi, but does a terrible job at it, resulting in blurry and unreadable images.

Change the following registry setting from 1 to 0 in order to disable this "feature":

registry edit at first (Start>Run>Regedit then follow to HKEY_CURRENT_USER >Software> Microsoft > Internet Explorer >Main and double click on the UserHR and change the 1 to 0)

Is changing the registry settings something I can or should do? I was told that fiddling with the reistry settings could screw up ones computer but good.

Did you try bumping up the resolution on the video card?

changing the registry will have no effect. as for your pics being blurry.....if you have an LCD monitor make sure your running it at it's native resolution.
I don't agree because if it was a monitor problem, not only the pics would be blurry but the whole screen.

Goalie you can change the registry as long as you only modify what's told. Messing up with the registry can be problematic for windows only if you are trying to do something that hasn't been tested.
In many years of registry tweaking, I can tell you that nothing you are usually advised to change will make windows inoperable. Sometimes you will loose interesting functionalities but you can reverse the process.

I can tell you that all the words etc. are crystal clear, it's just the pictures that are fuzzy. Seems strange to me. Not being really computer literate, I'm a little apprehensive about fiddling with the registry. Anything easy to try first?

Don't fuck with the registry.

Get out the manual for your monitor. If you don't have the manual, Google for your model. Check to see what the recommended setting are and then match that with the settings in the video card. (Right click on desktop ->, Properties -> Settings

When you close all your windows. The desktop is the screen that is left with all the icons.

Your best bet is to find an outcall that has good computer skills, get her to come over. :p

This will take to long to go through it a thread.
