I have a very fast i7 desktop PC that appeared sluggish at times when online.
Offline it had no issues and was fast as ever. So I call up my cable company to complain. They do the normal routine checking on their end and say all looks A-OK and try to blame my equipment, as is their usual MO. I assure them this is NOT the case! They then decide to have me run some 'speed tests' while they monitor it.......ain't technology great....:Eek:
Anyways after seeing the results, the techie notes it has been a long time since both their company cable modem and my home wireless router have been rebooted....a bit over 150 days. He tells me he will reboot their modem and for me to reboot my router. We did that and I noticed a boost in online performance straightaway! He said modems need this every now and then to be refreshed. Just thought of passing this on....:wink:
