I checked my biz records to see what I've been paying for gas over the last few years... here it is.

mostly Premium 91 Octane average gas prices: (I got the cheap shit 87 Octane stuff when prices spiked... ie, I got cheap, too)

my total annual gas bills: 2001-$4718, 2002-$4554, 2003-$5185, 2004-$5948, 2005-$7391, 2006-$8592.

I can expect to pay more that 2x's as much for gas in 2007 as I did in 2002!

I don't recall a recession in 2001

me neither as my stock portfolio swelled some 70% that year!

but, interest rates were slashed, the TSE had record delistings in the 4th quarter, and there were greater amounts of job loss than gain recorded for the 4th quarter. plus the TSE was in the 7900s that week and dropped to 6500 within the next 30 days. GDP dropped continually for 4 straight quarters, 1 small gain, 2 more declines before bottoming out. the definition of a recession is a decline in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for two or more consecutive quarters.

yep. my 01 Rav4 now has +720,000kms on it.

Probably the same time you wasted puffing away your money with cigarettes, talking useless bullshit on your cell phone, surfing for porn and/or sitting on your ass watching commercials on TV.
