I'd say I have some intermediate skills on a computer... I am by no means a hacker or an expert... but I'm very comfortable that I can install and remove my own components... thats about the extent really... I'm not knowledgeable about all sorts of software and hardware out there that does amazing and fantastic things... but I thought I'd go back to college and take a 2 year computer systems technician course... any thoughts as to if a 32 year old guy can get some decent IT skills at that age to make a living? Like I know they say it's never too late... but obviously there's people out there that have been hackers and experts since they were teens and have made a living their whole life in the IT field... like 32 isn't too old is it to start learning more of this shit?

(sorry if my post sounds a little incoherent LOL)

asn is right you can learn anything at any age. Passion is the key, you cannot be good at something if you don't live and breathe it all day. The hackers and experts are hardcore because they are exactly that, hardcore. Hacking is not taught at school, it is a passion. Hackers hack at 2am instead of going out and getting laid because they enjoy it and their skills are top notch due to that. Same goes for building custom rigs, experimenting with software, overlocking, etc etc etc...

IT, like all professions is full of elitists and snobs, but don't let that stop you from learning if its what you really want to do. 32 years is nothing. Looooong work career ahead. Plus you likely have other work skills and a maturity level the 22 yr old compsci grad has not acquired yet. Just be careful about compensation salaries, be prepared to take a cut from whatever your profession was before. But that can be shortlived if you are good. Winners always rise to the top eventually.

Thanks again!
