That is actually a way of determining if you have a pinworm infection. The tape picks up the eggs, which show up under microscopic examination. But the idea that Ivermectin is a treatment for a virus is just fucking ludicrous.
Yes, I guessed that. And he talks far more sense than any other GOP politician that I have heard of. But who talks about his anus and his ass-worm infections in front of an audience ffs?!
Almost 4 BILLION doses of the Ivermectin have been distributed to HUMANS for variety of ailments. It's a safe drug. There are scientists and doctors that believe that it helps with Covid, especially in the early stages. Why not try? After all, we are pushing an experimental treatment without even knowing the long term effects.
Ivermectin has not been FDA approved for use with COVID. There was an early stage test which SUGGESTED that it may be of use treating COVID. Further tests are planned. It is hard to see the science behind the success, as Ivermectin is an anti-bacterial, not an anti viral. And they are different. But the upcoming tests may shed some light on that.
Ivemectin was seized upon by a grift gang of self-styled "health professionals" called America's Frontline doctors. Some of these are real doctors who have gone rogue and use Ivermectin and other unapproved - and almost certainly ineffective - medications to grift and make more money than they would in normal practice. Others are unqualified quacks. This group appears to have some ties with the GOP and some politicians picked up on ivermectin as the "real cure for COVID" in order to assist their anti vaxx campaigns to gain traction and used that to mobilize political support.
Since then, ivermectin has been picked up as a buzz concept by other anti vaxx groups for the same reason and in turn, this has led to a wide assortment of other quacks picking up on the fake cure and making $$ on it.

Yawn. The drug is safe for the off label usage and it's off patent, so it's inexpensive. There is no downside for using it as a preventive measure or during the treatment of Covid-19. BTW, what is the treatment for covid-19? Oh, that's right there is none. They send you home, prescribe the flu protocol and advise you to come to the hospital when you can no longer breath. I spent the whole last weekend looking into various treatments for Covid, including ivermectin. Can it help? We don't have 100% answer because almost nobody is looking into it. And you can forget using Google for your search, BTW. You have to use other search engines to see meaningful results. We do have enough evidence from India and Africa that Ivermectin is not harmful in the off label role and that it does seem to be working where deployed on large scale, especially in the prophylactic role. And now, back to unserious conversation with plenty of personal shots. Have at it.
Sure, Ivermectin is probably safe to use when you have a prescription. Idiots are taking actual horse medicine and trying to dose themselves with horrible consequences. As for the data from India and Africa, the sample sizes are too small and there are many unknown factors. The science just doesn't show a significant improvement with this drug. Just like hydroxychloroquin. People would rather use a drug that has shown no real benefit than a vaccine that has been shown to either stop people from getting sick, or minimizes the illness. Most competent doctors will not prescribe either for covid. but, JCPRO, continue doing your research to find meaningful results from fringe doctors. I'm sure they have patients best interest at heart...

It's not harmful if taken in small doses and if the non horse brands of the medication are used. But it's very probably not helpful either. It's a scam that America's Frontline Doctors cashed in on. Just like the "vitamin supplements" that other grifting quacks are now suggesting will cure COVID. They're just a money-making fraud for quacks.
The only proven science against COVID are the vaxxes. But that doesn't make $$$$$$$ for quacks and other frauds because they are administered without charge to patients. A grifting quack simply can't pay for his Mercedes Benz collection that way! - LOLOL!
It's useful to GOP populist assholes like DeSantis, Noehm and Abbott because they can champion it and use it as a counterweight to a proper mandatory vaccination program. That's PERFECT for the current GOP, which is backed by people with limited education and folks like you who want to believe that the "establishment" is trying to kill them and that only internet quacks and GOP pols will save them. It's highly unethical, but that's the GOP right now for you! Urban voters and more highly educated voters are the type of person who will take advice from proper professionals and they're also exactly the type of voter who will vote Democrat. So DeSantis can set up a conflict between proper medical advice and the Dem voters that it appeals to and the sort of horseshit nonsense that drives the GOP voters. Like yourself.
I would imagine that much of the "information" about ivermectin has been blocked on Google. That's probably because it's dangerous, fraudulent information that is banned. But don't let that stop you. You're too smart to let the "deep state" of google prevent you from "doing your own research" by reading what the latest holistic Christian Faith osteopath says about his latest $500 special program of ivermectin and vitamin supplements. Just don't try to use the chlorox enema.
