I agree that Garmin is the best, but I would personally look at the nuvi line from them. check out www.gpscity.ca for some info. They're in Toronto and really great to deal with.

I love my Garmin, I think it is a 7200? The best place I found to buy them is RadioWorld, it is on the South side of Steeles, just East of 400, they really know what they are talking about, and have lots of models to look at, Garmin and others.

Actually, you're right - I should have checked prior to posting. I have bought from the place in Calgary (RAM mount for laptop in van) and would recomend them as well, however, the place I meant to link to can be found at:

How about having the best of possible solution, why not get a smart phone like an HP iPAQ hw615? It has built in GPS and you can get TOMTOM software for it for about $150. Works just great.

rubmeister...

question about the i3 (because I'd like to pick one up...you should get a commission =)

my friend has a GPS - hers has one feature that I love (although it may sound silly - just a convenience...)

If you're driving along and in-need of gas or food - you can click on the menu and find the nearest gas stations and restaurants (hers even lets you chose which type of food you're craving lol)

I do drive a lot and that little feature could be a perk. Does the i3 have this capability or would I need to look at a higher-end model?

Thanks =)

In your head
TomTom the others are not even close.
Easy to use. Great screen(All touch) and very accurate. Comes with bluetooth and 20 GiG hard drive. Plays Music and Movies.:D

I did not find that my 1G Garmin would hold all of North America, it was full with everything East of Chicago, North of Atlanta.

I find the voice drives my nuts, I keep it turned off, it is very annoying. I find it easy to know when I have to turn because it is right up on the dash, and it changes the whole screen when a turn is coming up.

I have found the gas station / restaurant database virtually useless, because it is not accurate, where the street data is very accurate.
