I can't imagine how the parents in the neighbourhood feel, this is insane.
What did they expect? Build it and they will come. and wreck it.

What a stupid video. I didn't see any sign which stated children's park, I didn't see any playground equipment, I didn't see a turnstile where you need to prove anything to get into the park, I didn't see those men shooting up, fighting, I didn't see the so-called 'staff' having a problem with those men sitting there, I didn't see those men sitting there trying to do anything to anyone, or mugging or threatening anyone, so why TF can't they enjoy sitting on the grass in a park on a pleasant day?

Dude, there is playground equipment clearly seen in it almost from the get go.

What I did see was several groups of working age men sitting idle. And yes, it would be very intimidating to a mom and little kids.

OK OK, I got it, I see the playground equipment at the back, think I even saw a child running in it.

So lets be clear on your position here, because I don't want to put words in your mouth.

Are you saying that, because you and perhaps the videographer find a bunch of men sitting on the grass intimidating, it is wrong of them to do that? That they shouldn't be sitting on the grass?

They clearly are friends etc, so , is them congregating ANYWHERE a problem too?

So, what rules would you like? No men in that park? No men that are in shape, over 5 ft 10, no men dressed in casual clothes? Groups limited to 4 mean with each group a minimum 50 meters from each other?

If someone finds men sitting in the grass intimidating, that is their problem. Even more so if the true reason for the dislike is the immigration status/race of the men, which is CLEARLY the case here.

Would this bloke mind if a bunch of white bankers were sitting there taking their lunch? Methinks not.

In the same way that free speech is not dependent on whether or not other people like what I say or find it offensive, freedom TO BE IN a public park, wearing normal clothes (i.e not obscene or clothes with messages advocating violence, for instance) , not engaging in any illegal or even any activity at all other than sitting in the grass, following the rules, should not be dependent on someone else's feeling of intimidation. That is their problem.

Such a person would likely feel intimidated by similar people in almost any other location, and they have to take whatever actions within the law that they require to relieve themselves of their fear, just like a person who fears dogs would perhaps choose not to go to a section of a public park where dog owners are congregating, with their dogs on normal leashes etc.

If you disagree with my stance, then you should propose some regulations for us to hear that you feel would 'solve' this 'problem'. Be specific, state clearly what you would like to see done about this.

Cheers.

It has to do with what appears to be a lack of work ethic. Coupled with them creating an unsafe space. Many immigrant communities, even when illegal, are out working. Under the table, selling, whatever. However these groups don't work, don't go to school, and instead spend their days on welfare, hanging about in large groups taking over spaces tended for kids.

And in many cases these muslim men create misogynistic atmospheres. Notice no women, even from their own community? Ask yourself why.

I'd say public shaming, like what the poster did is a good start. Then an immigration check, outreach via mosques to educate, organization to get them actually working in the community to improve things.

I believe it's well known that white men make up the biggest percentage of pedophiles, we just don't like to admit it. Also, white males are the biggest incestuous pedophiles. Don't get me started on the Catholic Church.
In western, white dominated by demographics yes. Ask any Afghanistan vet what they saw there. Go to other ME places and see how it's condoned. Go to Africa/ME to see child marriages, genital mutilation of young girls, child slavery, child labour.

Your argument is flawed by myopic blinders to only 1st world nations.

I disagree, according to tim tebow who has opened an organization to fight it. Usa has the most downloaded and shared child porn by a large margin.

It's also condoned here, why aren't there more resources to fight it. Do be pointing fingers.

Well, you are making a lot of assumptions - laziness, being on welfare, 'taking over ' spaces, assuming they are Muslim, and then presuming (presumably because they are Muslim) that these particular men are creating misogynistic atmospheres.

You have no evidence of this mixed bag of guesses, unfounded accusations, and then just pure racism. Provide evidence of why on earth that is an unsafe space. It looks to me quite safe actually, everybody just sitting around relaxing. I don't see the ladies in the blue uniforms looking terrified of this unsafe space that they too are lounging around in.

Should you perhaps then also ask yourself why there are no women around the next time you see a bunch of guys are hanging out in a park who are ...white? Maybe a bunch of guys throwing a football around? How would you like it if I saw you on a bench in a park and started berating you for the above 'obvious ' reasons?

Even putting all that aside, have you considered that they are perhaps refugees or others awaiting a work permit? I would say that the propensity to work is at least as high amongst immigrants as it is with the rest of the population. So we don't know why they are sitting in that park. Nor do you. But it is not illegal, it doesn't look unsafe at all to me, quite the opposite.

What do these men have to be ashamed of? You don't know. The shaming should be of the man doing the shaming.

Live and let live dude. If they are not breaking any laws, stop pointing the finger at others, when you have no factual basis to do so.

I'll go ahead and trust the guy recording it who sounds like a concerned parent about grown men in large groups hanging out where his children should play without any concern for their safety.
The so called "staff" are paid by the government, just like social workers, police, they're doing whatever their job is to do, in this case....................it looks like babysit grown men hanging out in a place for children to play in.

I believe it's well known that Muslim men can have multiple wives and are okay with marrying young children, a bit weird.

Also have far greater access to the internet. You think tribes in Afghanistan are on line?

There during the day, Britain, large groups, no women or children there.

Pretty safe assumptions.

Why do so many deny the harsh truth.

Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner: Unveiling the Trauma of Adolescent Boys Trapped in Afghanistan’s Culturally Legitimised Paedophilia-‘Bacha Bazi’ – Rupkatha Journal on Interdisciplinary Studies in Humanities

"Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner is a powerful narrative on ‘Bacha Bazi’, “same-sex pedophilia restricted to adult men and adolescent boys” (Powell, 2018, p.1), prevalent in Afghanistan. When marginalisation of Afghan women became the nucleus of major studies , especially during the Taliban regime in Afghanistan, Hosseini unveiled in The Kite Runner, the gruesome Afghan culture of ‘Bacha Bazi’ that disintegrates a boy’s social and sexual identity. ‘Bacha Bazi’ is not consensual rather coercion hence is equivalent to rape and reflects the grotesque violation of Afghan male children’s human rights. While the world viewed Afghanistan as a land of incessant wars, tribal conflicts, violence and female exploitation, Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner provided a startling insight into ‘Bacha Bazi’ and its implications on Afghan boys. The novel reveals the socio-culture domain of Afghanistan and ethnic rivalry playing an instrumental role in the existence of Bacha Bazi. In the light of the above discussions, the present paper examines the deleterious effects of Bacha Bazi on Afghan male children. It elucidates the psychological trauma of adolescent Afghan boys that evolves out of the sexual abuse and new androgynous identity imposed on them."

I haven't watched the movie but am aware of it. Just can't bring myself to watch it. I remember watching some doc on the US invasion of Afghanistan where a US soldier was being interviewed. He mentioned that their headquarters were right next to an Afghan police station where they could hear young boys screaming from being raped by the police. He wanted some official intervention and was told that there wasn't anything the Americans could do to interfere. "It's just part of their culture. "
