You obviously have come across some information somewhere in your surfing that we haven't. Clearly no one is completely innocent.:eyebrows: Then again, the article actually says half are 'cleared for transfer' or 'release', not innocent. Why don't you shine light on it? What's a joke is that so many americans want Gitmo closed, but aren't willing to house those who are not cleared or nor innocent in their backyard.

If The Guardian ever said lock them up and throw away the key the world would probably stop rotating.

Besides in the U.S. there are deliberately checks and balances, the President could say I'm letting them all go (and paying the gigantic political price of that) but he cannot just say oh I'm moving them all to a prison in Iowa.
