Does no one keep their word anymore?

I have recently experienced a botched appointment for the upteenth time.
Why is it that you take the time to schedule an appointment at an mp or with a sp and they don't honour it?
You visit an mp with an appointment and when you arrive they tell you, your not listed, the mpa has not arrived, the mpa is not here and not scheduled or the mpa has taken a walk-in. They know what is going on a string you along.
A mp has implemented a confirmation procedure to protect themselves from missed appointments. It took me a while to warm up to this but right now wish there was a way to protect myself from the same thing.

Same goes for the sp's. You schedule an appointment and when you arrive and make the second call, there is no answer, denial of any appointment or tell you they can't see you now (probably double booked).

This is supposed to be a relaxing hobby that is becoming anything but. How do the rest of you deal/put up with this?

Hey, it happens, both ways. Even with agencies where I've had a long and positive relationship sometimes things don't work out. Some acknowledge it, some simply and mysteriously don't answer the phone (almost as though they know it's me calling...hmmm).

Don't stress, let it go and figure you saved some money.

In a trap
Business is Business is Business!!!

Hey Zam!
While I feel for you with your myriad of dead-end calls, perhaps the occurrences are due to your selection of those you have chosen to do business with!
There are the reputable and the not so reputable in any business.
You have not identified either the MP's, MPA's or SP's that have caused you the aggravation.
Perhaps if you did, your confreres here on TERB may take an "ah, no wonder" approach and then provide you with the benefit of their experience as to who is and who is not reliable!
It's too easy to say it is just the nature of the business, as that broad brushes some of the very decent folks associated with it!
Just my thoughts!

Willywants... I was waiting for a post like this

What you say is true and took it into consideration when writing my post.
However, to become reputable one has to face the test by proving themselves with consistant service. And how well they can work through the tough spells.
Also, I posted my comments due to the fact that I was strung along by what many here would consider quite reputable. (ie. Blue Pearl, Silhouette, Utopia/ Didn't want to say but to prove my point)
Although, I would put the blame on the management rather than the mpa.

As for sp's, I guess I should not have expected more considering I tend to lean towards independents. Not trying to generalize because I have meet with great independents that are at the top(ie. Ela & Erica) but they are not always available. So you try someone else which leads back to my second sentence. You want to give them the benefit of the doubt and it works or you get burnt. It was the latter that happened to amny times for my liking that has irked me.

Willy thanks for your input.
